It's a pen, not a refill.,

I enjoy this pen. The Cross Verve rolling-ball in platinum finish is slightly larger in length and width than Pelikan 800 and about the size of Montblanc Meisterstuck ballpoints. It weighs about the same as those two, as well. Fit and finish demonstrate very good workmanship. The pen is comfortable in the hand. Its clip is good for pockets and problematical on slanted desks or table tops. The clip is rounded and close to the barrel; it provides little resistance if the pen begins to roll. Several thrilling crash tests have trained me to carefully set the pen down perpendicular to the lowest edge of its resting place. The matte finish is practical (finger prints are not a nuisance) and attractive. I use mine with Cross Jumbo Ball-Point Pen Refills Cross Jumbo Ball Point Refill - Fits Roller Ball - Med Pt Black or Cross Jumbo Ballpoint Refill - Blue Medium 8562-3. The refills are smooth, long-lasting, and just right for Cross Selectip Rolling Ball Pens.

When writing, it felt 'extremely gritty'. It was not fluid at all. Not that this is the most expensive pen in the world, but for the price, one would expect a smooth writing experience.
