This may sound strange, but this pen refill ranks high to me as it is easy to write with: you don't have to use extra pressure to make the ink apply to the paper as compared to a generic Cross pen refill as well as no smears. That's worth the extra buck to me on buying an OEM refill vs. generic!

Since some reviewers have been critical of A. T. Cross brand-name pen refills, a few words in support may be useful. I purchased a two-pack from amazon, put one into my old but very sturdy Cross pen, and it writes like a dream. I'm a throwback who still uses blue ink and prefers broad points. The Cross blue is beautiful, and the refills, while labeled "medium", are broad enough to suit me. This simple pen is a great writing instrument.

I have bought a few of these and every one of them is next to impossible to write with. I have no idea what the problem might be or why something that appears so simple is almost completely useless. Might as well throw away your pen. Would have bought in a "regular" store if I could have found them and returned, but with the hassle, time, and cost to return it after purchasing online doesn't make sense.

These refills fit perfectly inside my Cross pen. I had a black ink refill in there and the blue seems to write better than the first one. Of course I like different colors so I plan on going back to the black next week. Buy these they are great!

I have owned 2 Cross ballpoints for about 5 years. One finally ran out of ink. I didn't want to get a generic refill. I bought this and it fit perfect. I've used it for a few weeks and works perfectly. It's not worth saving a dollar or two to buy a generic refill for a fine pen.

After replacing my previous Cross refill which lasted over 2 years, I just bought this replacement and it only lasted maybe one week ... and with only a small amount of use. Boo.

Works fine, as advertised. No problems. Anybody know how to get the Cross pencils to work though? I can't figure out how to refill them for the life of me.

They began writing smooth as soon as I put a new one in. I like the blue Cross ink, it seems to have a distinct look to it. I had tried off-brand refills and they didn't screw in tight. These fit perfectly, and begin writing as soon as your pen touches the paper.

Good price, shipping was good - better protected than some reviewers have experienced.
