I love the new Cross Click Gel Pens. I purchased 8 and gave six as Christmas and graduation gifts last year. I kept two for myself and love the way they write and appreciate the fact that they are instantly retractible. I would prefer a finer line refill but until it comes out, I will treasure my new 'Clicks'. Unlike some of the reviews from other users, I have never had any problem with the pens writing on different kinds of paper. Nor has any single refill ever skipped or lose bubbles of ink. And those to whom I have given the Cross Clicks really love them. Cross Click Gel Ink Pen, Classic Black (AT0625-2)

..And now for something entirely different (apologies to Monty Python). Now, I know that this will win the "Go Get a Life" award, but if the customer orders BLUE ink, that means that he does not want BLACK ink. On the original "blue ink" order I rec'd black ink. I patiently completed the form, explained the error (seemed simple) and returned the black refill.

The "correction" came- black ink again. Because e-mail didn't work, I pushed the "call me" button and got a call from a contractor near Manila- working 100% from a script, on a bad connection. I explained that I had already returned this 2nd black refill, so I got unintended comic relief when the AMZN script took her to the place where she offered to comp the item; something that I did not need and had already returned... OK, so caveat emptor time... I managed to reach a CSR in the USA. The thrust of that conversation was my requesting confirmation that the SKU was, in fact, in inventory. (If AMZN is beta testing delivery drones, I figured that they probably had that SKU thing working). The CSR did not know if the item was even in-stock. Seemed odd for the world's best virtual store. But hope spring eternal and she assured me that the blue color refill was happily making its way to me as we spoke.

A couple of days ago that "replacement" arrived. AMZN sent a black refill, on 3rd attempt. Because insanity is doing the identical thing & expecting a different result, I have not returned their 3rd error. Maybe one of their delivery drone scientists reads this and figures out how to send a blue color refill.

To show that there's a sucker born every minute, before I began the Refill Odyssey I paid the $99 for Amazon Prime. That's so I can waste my time faster. I never imagined that a 1-item order could be screwed up so many times...

When placing my order for this item, I did not know the actual name of my pen and was placing my order based on the picture of this item in the ad. The item picture matches exactly, even the numbers noted in the photo on this Cross pen refill were exactly what is on my pen refill, however the product that arrived was something entirely different. It appears the description of this item and what is pictured are different items. What was described is what showed up, not what is pictured. The item that arrived does not fit my pen. When I contacted the seller, the person I spoke with was very prompt in trying to identify the problem. I was asked to send a photo of the issue which I did; the response was I should have ordered the "regular" gel rolling ball refill. This was interesting since the picture of the item I ordered is obviously the "regular" not the "slim" gel rolling ball refill. There was no offer to replace the item, I was simply instructed to order the "regular" refill. I feel I have just wasted my money and time with this company and will not be ordering product from them in the future.

When I first wrote with it all I got was a giant blob of ink. Document ruined, had to reprint. I thought maybe this was due to it being new, but next time I went to use the pen it did it again. And then again. I threw it away. What's worse, it was for my Spire pen, which has limited cartridge choices, otherwise I'd return the Spire too.

I ordered a black ink version. Same thing again. Which means both the blue and the black ink cartridges have the issues. I threw it away.

I went to Staples and bought a two pack of blue. Same thing happened with one of the cartridges! The other cartridge didn't last long enough to write the 6 letters of my first name. I threw them both away too. Four failures for four cartridges, now I'm figuring out how to put a ball point in my Spire, otherwise it'll be relegated to a drawer, never to be used again.

And just to be clear, each cartridge had the little plastic protector at the point. This was not a storage issue.

I got the Spire as a Christmas gift last year. The original cartridge had none of these issues, and lasted almost a year. Cross has gone way downhill with the slim line gel cartridges. Cross makes great pens and (normally) great cartridges. I hope this was an exception or they're in big trouble.

Update: I hope the people at Cross are listening. I figured out that if I leave the cap off my pen at night then the ink doesn't ooze out. Apparently the temperature changes that happen at night (daytime temp 70, night time temp 55) coupled with the air tight seal of the cap create a vacuum that pulls ink out of the cartridge.
