This was one of the first cross-stitch books I ever bought,but it is still a wonderful resource. The style is very english with a touch of whimsy. Very much like the author who I had the pleasure of meeting. There are cards to cover every concivable occasion plus a few a I didn't even know about. One of the sweetest is a chart covering wedding anniversaries from one year to sixy years which would make a beautiful sampler. Each anniversary is depicted by various glass beads with the title above. So for silver she has used two minature siler coins hung from a fine white and silver bow. A book for anybody who enjoys giving hand made cards and keepsakes. There are also clear easy to use diagrams showing how you can customise your own picture to make it exactly what you want.

This has a wonderful collection of quick to stitch items that would really come in handy at gift giving time. However there is a huge glaring error in this book which prevents me from reccomending it. There is a chart for a Jewish Star done in flowers in the book. One of the flowers looks exactly like a cross so you have a Jewish star filled with crosses. As a Jewish person I found this upsetting and a little offensive. I was surprised the designer and the editors let this go.
