Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

First published in the United Kingdom, this is a practical introduction to ancillary embroidery techniques for cross-stitchers seeking to add variety to their pieces. The authors take a project approach to the task, introducing the reader slowly to each new technique by presenting a series of gradually more difficult projects. In the chapter on withdrawn and pulled work, for example, the projects include a small table mat, a sampler designed to display a stamp or a button collection, and finally a large paisley bell-pull utilizing all the techniques covered in the chapter. The ideas are more interesting than some of the designs, but this is still recommended for public library embroidery collections.
