This book was very appealing based on other descriptions given. I love cross stitching but am self taught through kits and my knowledge does not go that in depth. I've been TRYING to find books that will help me advance and give me more ideas and things to try. This book is great if you want to start other types of embroidery. It had some very beautiful samples and overall it was put together well. The only real pitfall I found was that out of the 200+ pages there was only a small section on types of different types of stiches and almost all of the samples were of everything BUT cross stitch done on Aida. MISLEADING, but good for the right audience... I guess.

I now have a large library of Cross Stitch reference books but I thought that I would add this just to see. I am delighted that I did. It is a comprehensive look at cross stitch and other styles of needlework that compliment and add to cross stitch design. Many of the tips and techniques were unknown to me or skills I didn't possess as my focus was strictly cross stitch. I didn't realize until I looked at this book how limited my choices were and how simple it would be to enhance my pieces. I have learned so much just by scanning my copy. It may take practice to develop some of the skills but it's worth the time invested. The detail put into this book is exceptiomal. If you don't own one of these, get one. If you are a needleworker, you won't be sorry. I know that if I were stranded somewhere with just a few needlework items this would be one of the books I'd have by my side. Enjoy!!!

I found this book very informative. The how-to pictures are quite good. Another nice thing about this book is the super binding. It won't get worn out. I highly recommend this book for beginners and experts.

Jane Greenoff is a guru of cross stitching and this book earns an A+ rating. A new stitcher could read this book and have all the "how to" instruction that they need for dozens of small and not so small stitching projects using a variety of stitches, fibers and techniques. Printed in full color,this book will make a great gift for a new needleworker, or for a veteran stitcher who loves reading about the art.

I have an extensive collection of cross stitch books and this is my most used resource. While it does have a few projects, they aren't really to my taste, but that is not what this book is for. It has wonderful cross-stitching tips. I've been stitching for many years but still found a lot to learn from this book. I recommend it highly.

this book is well illustrated, mostly in color and the binding(spiral) allows it to lie flat. Important when you are checking a reference picture and trying to stitch! I keep it close to my stitching chair and hve refered to it several times already.

I am in a cross stitch sampler class and most of us have purchased this book. It has good diagrams for many stitches. Very helpful. Lots of nice patterns also.

I'm new to the world of counted cross stitching and this book has been a lifesaver! I am self taught but have been doing more and more projects, so decided to invest in a guide for more complicated techniques and to make sure I was technically doing everything right. This book provides excellent details, examples and instructions and is going to be my go-to cross stitch guide!

This is an excellent source of information. It covers many stitches beyond those normally used in counted cross stitch. It allowed me to take simple cross stitch patterns and add greater detail.

This is an excellent book for the beginer. Also good for advanced cross stitchers.
Well put together for a reference. I recommed it. It was featured on Simplicity's website at a higher price.
