5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for scientific survival types, April 22, 2004
By
This review is from: The Cross-Time Engineer: Book One in the Adventure of Conrad Stargard (Unbound)
This book, and the others in this series are well thought out, fun, and fast reading books. This series is on my top 10 to re-read list. The book tickles that imaginative spot in most peoples brain that questions "what if I was stuck in poland Pre-Mongol invasion?" Sure we all have thought about it, but Leo Frankowski has brought the idea to life with "The Cross Time Engineer". This is a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars An extremely fun time travel romp with a likable hero, August 23, 2007
This review is from: The Cross-Time Engineer: Book One in the Adventure of Conrad Stargard (Unbound)
Where this humble book wins you over is with a compellingly believable, all-too-human young male hero who manages to also be extremely decent and likable. I enjoyed every minute of this tale. Its setting --modern and medieval Poland--is also a nice change of pace from typical SF literature which is too often rather Amerocentric (not that SM Stirling or Harry Turtledove don't write awesome time travel fiction, cuz they do!)
