This is one of my favorite albums. If you like to bang your head to electronic music, then this is an excellent place to start. The bands' best music is best performed on this live album. If you don't get another Justice album, then get this one. They have truly defined a new genre, and I hope to hear more of this kind of music from them in he future.

I love this album, both the CD and DVD. The live version of "We Are Your Friends" on the CD is enough reason to get this album, and the sound quality is the best I've heard in a live techno album.

But really, the best thing about A Cross The Universe is the DVD. It's a documentary film by Romain Gavras (French director who is the son of famous French film director Costa Gavras, who did the films Z and Mad City), SO-ME (the art director for Ed Banger) and Justice (Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Auge). The documentary isn't just about Justice's tour; it's also about their personal experience. In essence, this film is supposed to show the crazy part of live gigs and touring. Justice really is the rock band of these times, and this documentary shows that, with fast editing and dizzying camerawork that give it an acid-trip feeling reminiscent of other music documentaries by rock bands, like Let it Be, Sympathy for the Devil, or The Kids Are Alright. In terms of content, the strong language, nudity, drug and alcohol use (Xavier feeds aspirin to squirrels, for crying out loud), and actual violence (most notably a real fight with a bunch of drunk guys) would give this doc an R rating, but if you're over 13 this is probably appropriate.

Overall this is a must buy, even if you're not a Justice fan.

This CD is amazing!! The mixing is as close to perfect as you can get besides Daft Punks Alive 2007 track selection is just the way it should be there is not one part of this cd where you are bored. The DVD is very good as well does not have a full video of a live set so don't think it comes with that but just shows how touring in the states is for Justice. A must have for anyone who enjoys heavily distorted house music or house music in general.

I'll never understand how these guys blew up so much just from a few measly songs & one half-ass album and I'll never understand why people cant see through the hype & image. Apparently as long as you look, dress, & act like a "rockstar" people are stupid enough to fall for it & will believe that you actually are one. I think I'm going to go out and buy a leather jacket & tight black pants.

Justice is mostly HYPE/IMAGE and not much musical talent. I'm not saying they have no talent at all, they obviously have some because they have produced a few really good tracks. But they dont have nearly as much as people seem to think they do. It's unfortunate that the masses of asses in this world cant see through all that & keep the wool pulled over their eyes, but oh well. That's their problem not mine.

These 2 guys should be thanking their lucky stars that they got to meet Pedro (Busy P), because if it wasnt for that man then Justice would still be nobodies & people would probably be saying "yeah, they're alright I guess." But put a bunch of HYPE & MARKETING & BLOG LOVE behind it and suddenly everyone says "OMG they are the greatest thing ever, they look so cool!"

I waited quite a long time for this CD/DVD to come in, and I was definitely not disappointed. The DVD is something I'll have to get used to, but is presented in such a crazy way that I know I'll love it (just like Daft Punk's Electroma). It has some performances of the songs here that you definitely can't miss.

And the CD? PRICELESS. This is the live album I've been hoping would happen ever since I hopped onto YouTube and heard Justice cover Daft Punk's rendition of "Crescendolls" going into Boys Noize "Frau." Every track is remixed and sounds even better live, and listening to the album, you definitely get the feeling were treading the line between electro and rock. Personally, I like the combination!

The booklet in this CD/DVD is also worth having, and contains pictures mostly submitted by Justice fans. I can't say enough that this is an album worth having!

This live album is great. First off let me say that the only reason I don't give this a 5 is because the audio is all from the mics on the stage and none of it is mixed in with the audio from the soundboard so it falls short of Daft's Alive 2007 Standard.

Also the reason why I say best heard without headphones is the sound scape is too large to heard on measly headphones. def recommend listening to this in your car or with big speakers and loud. :D

But none the less some great energy and rocking opera end of the world rhythms can be found on this cd and I wouldn't discourage you at all from giving this a listen. I might encourage you to hear their cross album before listening to this though as it gives a good understanding of Justice's style and sound.

I listened to this album after thoroughly enjoying "Cross." There is not a song I didn't like in "Cross" and they were all pretty darn good, some are near godly. So I bought this live album and ever since I first listened to it, I have yet to go back to "Cross." The songs in "A Cross the Universe" are more intense and much more enjoyable overall. They did an awesome job remixing them with different tempos and underlying beats. I can't do it justice by writing about it (I simply don't know that much about music to do so). But what I can say is that "CROSS" IS STILL AN AWESOME ALBUM, BUT WHEN YOU HEAR THE SONGS IN "A CROSS THE UNIVERSE," YOU WON'T BE GOING BACK TO "CROSS" ANYTIME SOON. Some negative things a can say about this purchase is that I think they over used the line from "Never Be Alone," "TTHHEE PPAARRTTYY" could have been better but it's still cool, and I wish they included "New Jack" and "Valentine." Also the DVD is enjoyable but I don't see myself re-viewing it again; but, like I said, it's pretty enjoyable. It's hard to complain about this album bundle, especially with an amazing encore cover of "NY Excuse" and "Master of Puppets!"

overall, if you love "Cross" or Justice then you should totally get this!

The documentary is random, sexy, and violent, just like Justice. It will leave you with questions but you will understand the Justice phenomena a bit more. The Album is...just wow, its more rocky-hardcore than their previous stuff but satisfies the electronic sound that every beat lover needs. Track 8 particularly blends punk/electro with blues beats it was genre changing. Simply put, extraordinary

A Cross The Universe truly takes your mind and body for a whirl through electronic euphoria. The expert mixing skills of Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Auge's first full album, Cross, redefine the boundaries of contemporary DJing. The live experience, I myself have undergone, is a life changing performance of sound unparalleled to any electronic duo with an exception to Daft Punk. This album is a must have for any Justice fan or electronic lover alike.

I just got my copy a few days ago and I haven't had a chance to watch the DVD yet, but I have kept the CD in my car since the day it came and have listened to it on repeat (at least 4 times now).

I was definitely skeptical about buying a live version of an electronic/dj artist's performance, but I am SO GLAD I got it. They definitely re-worked all the great tracks off "Cross" and even overlapped them onto each other, and mixed in a couple other songs.

Most definitely worth buying, if only for the CD. I can't wait to check out the DVD...
