I ended up buying this product because of the reviews posted here. So I thought I would help the next person choose since I got such a good deal. This product was shipped about as fast as anything could be.

I ended up buying this product because of the reviews posted here. So I thought I would help the next person choose since I got such a good deal. This product was shipped about as fast as anything could be.
I am very impressed and pleased with this bow. It is lightweight and does everything it should for the price. One thing I was leery of was the review that talked about how hard this bow was to string. Well, I don't know if I am gifted or not at stringing bows, but I soon had the string on with virtually no problem at all. A 10 year-old child could do it the way I did, providing he does more with the muscles on his arms than play pc games. It is just a matter of knowing how to do it. Here is what you do:

After you have it all clamped together, put your left foot in stirrup (or whatever that thing is called) and take a piece of firewood, 5 or 6" high and lay the left side of the bow on this. Put the string on the right side of the bow. With your right hand pull up on the right side of the bow to bend it back. You will take note at this point of the simple leverage that is going on. Place the other end of the string on the left side. And relax. That's all there is to it.

I was also pleased to get a scope and the laser thrown in for this price. I had no trouble at all mounting them. The arrows included are just to get you started. I used a bail of straw and a cardboard target for sighting in at 20 yards. These small 16" cheap arrows are not the best thing to use if you want to see the real accuracy of this thing. 20 yards were the max.
This is a great starter crossbow, but for anyone serious about hunting big game, unless you were 10 yards from the game and knew you could get a clean shot to the lungs or heart, I wouldn't use it. You really need a compound bow for the bigger stuff, IMO.
I have not tried this bow with better arrows. Either way, it is no toy and is a serious weapon.
To save your cheapy arrows, use a little Gorilla glue on the joints and even on the feathers. Makes them last a lot longer. Same thing with the string. After several shots you will see the ends of the string and where the shaft sits start to unravel. Tighten the wrapped outer string back like it was and apply a little Gorilla glue. You will be amazed how much longer they last. And I use a bar of old soap to keep the beam and string well slicked. Works great.
The only other thing I would recommend is that after you shoot is several times, re-tighten all the screws and bolts.
Also, don't expect bulls-eye accuracy. This is a bow and arrow, not a rifle.
Hope this helps.

ps. The cheapy red arrows are the same as the more expensive ones, as noted by someone else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great crossbow and cheap, August 29, 2009
This review is from: 150 Lbs Crossbow Laser + Scope + 8 Arrows Cross Bow (Misc.)
First pulled it out of the box disassembled, the individual parts feel sturdy. The instructions on the box are a tad iffy but they are easy enough to follow. Its very difficult to put the string onto the bow, for us it took a 250lb guy to hold down the crossbow doing it the way the directions said.

For operation you pull the string up and it puts it on safety and clicks into place. when you notch a bolt a little tab holds it in place do it wont fall off as your firing. The iron sights are set all the way up so they require tuning. Once tuned the bolt hit very consistently. We were hitting about 2" away from the other bolts at 100 ft. The fore-grip is adjustable front to back also.

The major complaint I have is that its a pain in the rear to get the iron sights off in order to attach the scope and laser. After that the scope goes on easy, the laser then attaches to the scope. The laser is a high end rifle laser, its adjustable in wind-age and elevation and has a on-off switch rather than a pressure button. The scope is a bit light weight and feels cheap yet sturdy, it only magnify about 1.5x non adjustable zoom, it is also adjustable in wind-age and elevation and comes with lens caps.

We had to use about 8" of solid cardboard for a target otherwise it goes through and if it hits anything hard it breaks the bolt.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great except the string and scope, April 1, 2010

This review is from: 150 Lbs Crossbow Laser + Scope + 8 Arrows Cross Bow (Misc.)
I ordered this crossbow on Friday and got it next Thursday (Standard shipping).
The crossbow itself is well made and sturdy. I feels like it would last a long time.

The only major problem is the string. After a few shots, the string on the sides and near the center starts to unravel (looped strings). I only shot it 4 times and I feel like the string is going to snap off a few more shots.

I took out the iron sight and put the scope and laser. It seems that the scope isn't facing the center of view correctly. It is slightly slanted to the right. I even made the bottom mount rail forced to the left to try and get the scope centered, but it was still a bit off target. This would mean the laser mounted on the scope would be off target too. I think the problem is that maybe the mount holes weren't drilled accurately. So it's not the problem with the scope or laser, it is the problem with the holes on the mount rail itself.

And please, make sure you buy a very good string as a replacement. The one provided might break soon.

Honestly, 5 stars on shipping and the crossbow itself.
I give it a 3 star because of the string and inaccuracy of the scope and laser due to the mount area slanted slightly towards the right. I took them off and ended up using the iron sights.

Overall, I'm pleased with the product and it is very powerful! It went through more than 12 cardboard pieces.

Once again, I highly recommend you buy a string replacement (a good quality one) and maybe you might get a crossbow that has an accurately built mount for the scope and laser to be centered.

I recommend you use a really strong glue and rub it over the strings that has the looping to make a last a bit longer. Also use wax or a bar of soap to lube the string.

1.0 out of 5 stars Toy bow, November 3, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 150 Lbs Crossbow Laser + Scope + 8 Arrows Cross Bow (Misc.)
No instructions inculded, just simple pictures on box.Very hard to sting by myself.
It was easy to cock. To easy I doubt it was about 70lb. not 150lb.
the sever string broke after 3 shots, the string rubs on the barrel. The laser did not work, the scope was hard to mount straight.
I lost an arrow because it shot so wild. I reurned it cost me $17.00 to ship back.
more like a deadly toy then a serious hunting weapon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good crossbow, August 6, 2010

This review is from: 150 Lbs Crossbow Laser + Scope + 8 Arrows Cross Bow (Misc.)
This is good crossbow that comes with lots of extras. I do however think that the seller of this item should have provided better instructions for the assembly of the peripherals such as the scope and laser. The instructions for getting the bow ready to fire are on the back of the box and are fairly straight forward to follow. As for the extras I decided not to mount them to the bow because to mount the scope meant removing the iron sight which was a hassle. In the end I decided to put the scope, which is really good, on my .22 long rifle. As for the laser, I found a much more entertaining use for it by tormenting my cat with it, who chases the red light all around the room :D

Stringing the bow was the most difficult task, especially when the limb nocks are put on the ends. I would say that a child or young teen would be unable to string the bow without the help of an adult.

The bows safety feature automatically puts the bow in safety mode when it is cocked and the switch must be pushed into fire when ready to shoot. Overall a good purchase for the money for anyone with an interest in archery and crossbows.

The bow is perfect. The string may need replacing soon and the scope and laser are fine. I'll use them on my guns, not on the bow. I really only wanted a good crossbow, but I'm glad for the scope and laser. I can't understand why anyone would charge so much more for a bow when bows like this are available for this price. I guess it's for the name, but what's in a name? Sorry, I'm slipping into Shakespeare. Anyway, get one or two. For the price, get 3!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good crossbow for the money!, October 9, 2009

I was pleased with the product, its quality, and the speed of delivery.the only drawback is the laser is aftermarket(the mount is for a rifle),and the scope is not an over/under, making you choose between iron sights and the scope,as opposed to being able to use either.I use this to hunt, and the bolts are a little too short to mount broadhead hunting tips, but overall this is a great crossbow, and puts food on the table. OK, got this REALLY fast from Last Punch.
When you order stuff online, you never know.
But I'm really happy with the Crossbow.
Yes, the removal of the adjustment post to put the scope on was a pain, but done.
The laser was almost spot on when I turned it on and looked through the scope.
The Crossbow is a Taiwanese product, but nice. Not junk, not at all.
My plan is to use it as a bowfishing rig for the Grandkids, and also for target practice.
Grandma showed it to the Grandson today and he was really excited about it! Unfortunately he had to leave before I got home.
We bowfish from our pontoon boat.
OK, off to shop Amazon for the reel and fishing arrow to use with it.

I ordered this crossbow for my son for Christmas, I received a cheaper model without sights or laser. I was charged for the more expensive one and when the seller replied to my email he wasn't even apologetic. He told me to send it back, I guess at my cost.
