5.0 out of 5 stars Has become a necessity, June 11, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: La Crosse Technology TX22U-IT 915 MHz Wireless Thermo Temperature & Hygro Sensor (Kitchen)
I bought a LaCrosse weather station years ago, always wanted one with wind, rain, temp and barometeric pressure. Anyway it started going so I got a new transmitter and it is working just fine now. Considering it is out in the elements day and night, hot and cold all year you can't expect it to last forever.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with the TX21U-IT, June 11, 2009
This review is from: La Crosse Technology TX22U-IT 915 MHz Wireless Thermo Temperature & Hygro Sensor (Kitchen)
I bought it thinking that it might be a compatible replacement as it seems no one has the TX21U-IT right now. This one has imputs for a rain gauge and a wind speed indicator to plug into also.

1.0 out of 5 stars LaCrosse Weather Instruments are UNRELIABLE TOYS, October 23, 2011
This review is from: La Crosse Technology TX22U-IT 915 MHz Wireless Thermo Temperature & Hygro Sensor (Kitchen)
I could not get my Lacrosse Weather Station to be reliable. It needs rebooting, it loses connections, the rain gauge doesn't work, the wind sensor stops working, it stops reporting outdoor temperature, etc. etc. etc. Whenever the weather gets demanding my LaCrosse weather station decides to quit. Trying to get it to work again by resetting (losing all historic data in the process) is a nightmare...sometimes things start working again, sometimes they are just plain dead for good, even if they are only months old. There's no telling what's next with LaCrosse.

I tried their technical support, forget it, their support is worse than their products. Support emailed me a three page canned tech bulletin....they blamed problems on wireless routers (who doesn't have one?), keyless starting systems on our cars (OMG), television antennas, satellite dishes, batteries, intrusion alarms, wireless cameras.....everything but their product was the potential problem. The only thing they didn't blame is the phases of the moon.

FORGET LACROSSE WEATHER STATIONS!! THEY PERFORM LIKE CHEAP TOYS, THEY ARE TROUBLE PRONE AND UNRELIABLE.

In my frustration I bought a DAVIS weather station, it's been working for 18 months without one problem. And LaCrosse listen up: The Davis even works in my wireless router, satellite dish evironment,.....and your stuff should too. The Davis system takes a licking and just keeps on ticking. Buy Davis and get your monies worth, forget Lacrosse weather instruments, they are UNRELIABLE TOYS.
