5.0 out of 5 stars Well pleased after several months use
I'm very please with the performance of this 3 piece unit after 6 months of use. The temperture gauge works well, just be sure to place it in a area that avoids direct sunlight. The rain meter is the real gem in the package, accurately reading to the 1/100th of an inch. Do be aware there is a delay in the radio transmition, meaning that you may see heavy rainfall with...

3.0 out of 5 stars remote temp sensor quit working
I bought two of these, one for me and one for my father. The rain gauge works fine and is very accurate. The remote temperature sensor quit working after two months, so now it is just a rain gauge.

I'm very please with the performance of this 3 piece unit after 6 months of use. The temperture gauge works well, just be sure to place it in a area that avoids direct sunlight. The rain meter is the real gem in the package, accurately reading to the 1/100th of an inch. Do be aware there is a delay in the radio transmition, meaning that you may see heavy rainfall with nothing happening with the meter. It updates about every few minutes. It's interesting to compare what you thought you were getting to what you actually received (like on those drizzly days you thought you must have gotten inches, only to get 3/10ths).

A 5 star product must: 1) do what's advertised; 2) meet expections for quality, reliability and appearance; and 3) be priced reasonably. It does all three, and is probably worth more than the price paid!

5.0 out of 5 stars La Crosse Technology WS-7047U Wireless Rain and Temperature Gauge, August 6, 2006
This review is from: La Crosse Technology WS-7047U Wireless Rain and Temperature Gauge (Kitchen)
This is one of the best wireless rain guages that I have found. I have tried two other wireless rain gauges and had to return both. The indoor/outdoor temperature guage is a bonus. The wireless rain gauge alone is worth the price. Setup is extremely easy. The main unit picked-up the sensor signals within 10 minutes of installing the batteries in the right sequence. Will be buying a few of these units for gifts.

This rain guage is fantastic. It was easy to set up, and appears to be very accurate. I have never rated a product online before, but I highly recommend this product.

Got the unit and installed it. The outdoor temp is usually 10 to 12 degrees high. Installed under the eve so it is out of direct sunlight. Contacted the company but the have never responded. Should have bought a better one or stuck to the old mercury.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best type of rain gauge!, March 27, 2009
By
This review is from: La Crosse Technology WS-7047U Wireless Rain and Temperature Gauge (Kitchen)
We have been 100% happy with this rain gauge. One of the best reasons for spending more money and buying one like this is cold weather. Whenever I bought one of the plastic or glass ones that you need to dump after each rain, I would always forget to empty it. Then either the rain amount would be wrong, or it would freeze with water in it and then break.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rain gauge isn't always accurate, January 13, 2008
This review is from: La Crosse Technology WS-7047U Wireless Rain and Temperature Gauge (Kitchen)
The thermometer is definitely a plus. I've yet to find a better raingauge than the old "freebie" glass ones you hang on your fence. But this gives a general idea without drudging out in the rain or waiting until the next day.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not so good., May 25, 2007
This review is from: La Crosse Technology WS-7047U Wireless Rain and Temperature Gauge (Kitchen)
This didn't last 3 mos. I made no attempt to return or exchange, but I was not happy with the quality of the product. The outside temperature gauge broke within a couple of months.
