Product Description

Amazon.com

A great gadget to mount on a boat, enclosed porch, or outdoor deck by the beach, this battery-powered wireless station forecasts your local weather for easier planning and is about the size of a remote control. The LCD is divided into five areas of information to provide a full picture of the weather. The station reports the humidity for indoor locations and the temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius for both indoor and outdoor locations using a remote sensor. For more accurate outdoor readings, the base unit can receive information from up to three different sensors, which can each be placed up to 80 feet away. A forecast icon on the LCD displays weather predictions based on changing air pressure and is about 75 percent accurate for any 12- to 20-hour time period. The device also has a clock with a 12- or 24-hour time mode and dual alarms with snooze. For precise time-keeping, the gadget has a built-in antenna system that receives signals from the WWVB radio transmitter in Fort Collins, Colorado, which is in turn is regulated by the atomic clock. The wireless temperature station requires two AAA batteries for the receiver and comes with one remote sensor, which requires two AA batteries. --Cristina Vaamonde

We bought this because we love the weather channel and can't get enough weather information. We are weather junkies!

This unit was chosen because of the price and the fact that it included an outside sensor.

The unit predicts the weather fantastically. It was a lovely day, but the unit predicted rain. We were thinking the unit was bad, but within 2 hours.... major downpour!

Very happy with this purchase and happily recommended.

Let's face it, guys (and girls) like their e-toys. So if you are looking for a fun, useful gift you can't go wrong here. Who isn't interested in the weather?

The bottom line here is convenience. Since this smart-looking base unit runs on batteries and is wireless you can pick it up and place it anywhere in the house -- in the kitchen or on the nightstand. The time auto-updates itself via atomic clock, so no need to worry about resetting, and with the external remote monitor you can check the temperature inside or out from under the covers of your own bed.

Simple to set up with clear, easy-to-read display. All the weather basics are covered. I've owned this for more than a year and have never experienced a problem.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that with everything the WS-7075UF has going for it, at >$50 it seems a tad pricey (though I must confess to being a bit of a miser). That said, I just purchased another as a gift for my brother.

3.0 out of 5 stars No tech support from La Crosse, September 29, 2003

This review is from: La Crosse Technology WS-7075UF Wireless Forecast Station (Kitchen)
I liked this product the moment from I received it except that the remote sensor was not working. I tried to reinstalled it once or twice more based on the instruction but it still gave me no reading. I wrote an email to La Crosse Technical Suppor(suppor@lacrossetechnology.com) for help. No Answer. I wrote again. Still, no answer. I feel sorry that I had to return this product without giving it a second chance. But I had lost my confidence in this company after 10 days of waiting. :(
