Buyer Beware!,

This review is from: La Crosse Technology WS-7395U-CH Wireless Weather Station with Wind Sensor (Kitchen)
The outdoor sensor on this item failed within a month of installation. Customer Service from the manufacturer was virtually nil; all I received were pre-fab, canned e-mail responses that did not address the issues or questions I'd raised. I've simply junked this way-too-expensive unit and will buy from a different manufacturer.

Great Outdoor Weather Station,

We have had our La Crosse Technology WS-7395U-CH wireless weather station with wind sensor for over two years and it works great. The whole family uses it. It predicts weather 24 hours in advance very accurately. The wireless outdoor sensor works great. You need to follow the instructions and make sure you mount the combined wireless temperature/humidity sensor where it is out of direct sun light and not exposed to direct rain. The wind sensor is wired to the temperature sensor by a 40+ foot wire giving you flexibility to mount it in a good location. Yes it works in the rain and snow.Bootom-line: This system is great. We all use it every day. It is simple to setup and use. The time clock automatically synchronizes to the atomic clock so it is the most accurate clock in our house.

The unit is just as it was pictured, the setup went smoothly and it is working fine. There are just a few things I wish it had like a barometric pressure reading instead of the "tendency" display that it has. Also the wind indicator does not work well because the wind outside my window is blocked by the house. Unless I erected a high pole on my house I would not get an accurate reading. Oh well, I guess hindsight is always perfect and foresight is not.

still using it after 8 years. I got it because it has indoor/outdoor temp/humidity on the display without having to press a button to toggle, and because it hangs on a wall. batteries last a long time. When we moved 5 years ago, I only temporarily mounted the sensors on a post leaning against the house. We had a small flood, the post fell over, and the temp/wind sensors broke. I bought a similar product with the same sensors and now I have two wall units that read the transmission of the same sensor.my only complaint is that because there's so much stuff on the screen, it's easy to misread one value and think it's something else. But, since that's what I wanted, that's my own fault. Regardless, maybe they could have made indoor/outdoor readings different sizes or somehow better distinguish which is which. 4 stars because it can be easy to confuse indoor/outdoor at a glance, and because it was a bit pricey.

The wind sensor worked for less than 5 minutes. I called La Crosse warranty. Actually reached someone the 2nd time I called. They said to return the whole unit to them and they would decide what was wrong. I packed the whole thing up in original box and sent it. They returned it in a shoe box, missing pieces. I have now called 4 times over 3 days (at different times of day, in case there is a peak at some time). Each time I get a recording that says "Due to high call volume, please leave your name and number and we will call you back." I have still not been called back. The only saving grace is that Amazon says it will give me a refund if I send the remaining pieces, no longer in the original box, to them.If you like trouble, deal with La Crosse. |
