If alarms or music are not enough to get you out of bed in the morning, this projection alarm clock might give you the jolt you need. This bedside clock displays the precise time in hours and minutes in either 12- or 24-hour mode on its backlit LCD screen as well as the current day of the week and numeric month and day. The clock has a built-in antenna system that receives signals from the WWVB radio transmitter in Fort Collins, Colorado, which is in turn regulated by the atomic clock. Once you plug the unit in and set the clock to the proper time zone, it will automatically set to the accurate time. The clock can be set to one of 13 time zones, including all US times zones and Greenwich Mean Time. The main screen also identifies your current time zone on a United States map icon and displays current indoor or outdoor temperatures and the weather forecast for the next 12 to 20 hours. The temperature function displays in either Celsius or Fahrenheit and is measured indoors every 10 seconds. Outdoor temperature is measured remotely every 5 minutes via a 433 MHz transmitter (included) that can be positioned up to a maximum of 80 feet from the clock’s location. The weather forecast is shown in an iconic display and predictions are based on changes in air pressure detected by this unit.

When the alarm sounds, the time and outdoor temperature project in large red digits onto a wall or ceiling up to six feet away so you can’t miss it. The projection arm has four different orientation angles for you to adjust it to the perfect eye level and also has an adjustable brightness control. The clock has two alarm settings, enabling you to set wake-ups for two different times, and an adjustable snooze button allows you to set a respite of anywhere between 1 and 59 minutes between alarms and flashing digits.

This projection alarm clock comes with an AC power adapter and also runs on two AA batteries as a backup method. The manufacturer provides a one-year warranty on this projection clock. --Cristina Vaamonde

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice clock, but not worth $50, February 9, 2008
This review is from: La Crosse Technology Weather Channel WT-5432TWC Projection Alarm Clock with Forecast (Kitchen)
I bought this clock shortly after being disappointed with the Homedics SS-5000 Sound Spa Projection Clock Radio with Atomic Clock and Indoor/Outdoor Temp- On Sale!. This is a much better clock than that one, but still has a few flaws. I bought the weather channel version of this clock thinking it was different than the La Crosse Technology WT-5432 Projection Alarm Clock with Forecast, but it turned out it was exactly the same only $20 more for the weather channel logo (don't be fooled).

Pros
-Great projection display at night (not too bright)
-Weather forecast is accurate
-The temperature is accurate and registers correctly
- There is a button on the clock to change the position and brightness of the projected time so you can project it anywhere

Cons
-The backlight on the clock only stays on for 3 seconds by pressing the snooze button, but this is a good thing because it would be too bright to sleep with at night if it was always on.
-The alarm isn't loud enough if you are a heavy sleeper and will shut off automatically after 90 seconds
- The clock was much smaller than I expected
- The buttons are hard to press

Although the clock has its flaws, it does everything it claims to do. I like mine. If I were to buy it again I would by the same one without the weather channel logo for $20 less.

1.0 out of 5 stars do not buy, January 4, 2007

This unit responds very slowly to changes in temperature.

I tested my unit and if The temperature changes 10 degrees (for example if the sun comes up), it takes over 1 hour for the unit output to change and show the 10 degree change.

Imagine needing to leave a thermometer in your kids mouth for 1 hour to measure his temperature!!!

Very slow response = useless for measuring temperatures which change

4.0 out of 5 stars Dependable Accuracy!, May 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: La Crosse Technology Weather Channel WT-5432TWC Projection Alarm Clock with Forecast (Kitchen)
This is my second purchase of this clock. After several years of service the outside monitor stopped working. I use it to monitor my greenhouse temperature in the winter season. I truly love this alarm clock. It is very accurate and very dependable. The only downfall are the instructions for set up. It's a little confusing.
