Incredibly, it does what it says it does--I love mine!, December 5, 2004
This review is from: La Crosse Technology WT-5442-BP Projection Alarm Clock with Forecast (Kitchen)
Although smaller than I expected, this alarm clock fulfilled everything I expected--and it does it very well. The outside remote seems to be very accurate, and the projection works very well. It's very easy to see the time/outside temp at night, and I don't find it obnoxious at all. It's really does make it easier at those early morning moments when you're wondering what time it is. The clock set itself within minutes of being plugged in--not a problem. The remote took longer to communicate with, but worked perfectly once connected (read directions carefully from the beginning). The weather forecast is strangely accurate where I live (New Mexico). For example, it predicted rain the other night and both my wife and I thought it was way off. It rained the next day and night! Once I skimmed the directions, I found the clock to be easy to setup and use. I especially like that the huge snooze bar on top can be used to disable & reset the alarm in one step-very simple and easy!
It does everything the description says, and it does it very well.

Excellent Clock for the price, May 22, 2006
This review is from: La Crosse Technology WT-5442-BP Projection Alarm Clock with Forecast (Kitchen)
I purchased the WT-5442U based on the fact that it had the least amount of negative reviews at Amazon. And yes, I am very happy.
Put the batteries in the remote sensor, connect the clock to the power and don't push any buttons for 10 minutes. That's the entire set up! Of course, once you get the clock time, you need to adjust the timezone, and the alarm time. The usage is very intuitive. Most things I figured out in 10 minutes by myself. 10 more minutes over the manual and I knew everything there is to know about this clock.
This clock does a lot for the price and it does it right.
Things I didn't expect, but are pleasant:
1) you can adjust the snooze time
2) alarm 1 wakes you up, but if you are strong sleeper, it gets louder after 30 seconds.
3) adjust to 12/24 hours. Although the Celsius and Farenheit degrees are adjusted to that. European vs. US?
4) easy and intuitive to use
Things that could be better
1) projection only works if it's dark. It could be stronger for my sight. But it works.
2) projection arm only moves forward and back. No swivel. I don't know if any of the clocks swivel anyway. But again, no big deal.
3) like everybody else, I would like the blue background to stay on all the time. But that's not an option. Plus the blue makes a very fine buzzing noise. I wouldn't want that anyway.
All in all, this is a great clock. The price value performance ratio is excellent.
Well done.

Great clock, just can't see it in the day, September 12, 2005
This review is from: La Crosse Technology WT-5442-BP Projection Alarm Clock with Forecast (Kitchen)
I really like this clock. Everything worked just as advertised. The auto time, remote weather, and projected display all worked great. In fact, the projected display worked all the way across my room with great clarity!
The only about this clock is I cannot see it when there is light in my room. When I wake up after sunrise, I have go to the clock to see what time it it.
When I walk through my room, I cannot glance over and see the time or the weather.
Because of that, I returned the clock and am still in search of the "right" clock for us.
