Great Clock, August 19, 2004
This review is from: La Crosse Technology Weather Channel WS-8117CTWC Atomic Digital Wall Clock with Outdoor Temperature (Kitchen)
I've had this atomic clock for about two weeks and love it. The main selling point for me is the fact that it automatically sets itself. I just happen to be one of those people that needs at least one clock in their home to show the correct time! The other features are very nice as well. Indoor/outdoor temps, day, date and moon phase are pretty nice to have all in one clock. Also the display is very large and easy to read. My one small complaint is that the temperature reading has frozen on me once. I knew my home wasn't staying at exactly 80.6 F for two days (it's normally around 74)so I just had to remove and then reinsert the batteries and then things seemed to work fine.

Wireless Thermometer Stops Working, January 11, 2007
This review is from: La Crosse Technology Weather Channel WS-8117CTWC Atomic Digital Wall Clock with Outdoor Temperature (Kitchen)
I got this clock initially because it was able to sync with some radio frequency to pick up the time automatically so I didn't have to manually adjust it when it gets a few minutes behind or when Daylight Savings shifts.
That part of the clock works fine, but it does take it up to 10 minutes before it syncs and has this rather cumbersome set of steps to follow. My first few try didn't work, which then required me to unplug the batteries, wait 10 minutes, put the batteries back in, and wait and hope it'll sync in the next 10 minutes. Once it syncs, you're pretty much set.
However, the wireless thermometer that was included kept stopping its transmission so I had to redo all these steps. After awhile, my time just stopped syncing no matter how many times I tried. The instructions tells me to try to alter the time and mess with the settings, and it finally started to sync again.
I've currently stopped using my wireless thermometer as it's stopped all 4 times I got it to work. I place it outside, less than 10 feet in my balcony, and it still stops transmitting the temperature. I think it might have to do with the cold winter here, but I'd think they'd make it more durable than that since the winters in Seattle aren't that bad compared to other parts of the country.

Great product! Purchased one for our vacation home & gave one as a gift. Loved all the features and bold numbers which are easy to see across the room. Decided to purchased a 3rd one for our main home. My in-laws raved about the one we gave them for Christmas and want to purchase another one as well.
