5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than the others
This weather station is the most accurate of all the ones in its price range that I have seen. Its forcasts are right on the money, and the temp and humidity are within one or two degrees and percent. I've read the other reviews for this type of product, and have seen first hand some of the problems that other weather stations have had, and I can honestly say that this...

3.0 out of 5 stars Information is great, reading it is tuff.
The unit works great. The contrast for the data even when it is turned up all the way is extremely difficult to read except if you get right on top of it. Be careful with the outside unit. Mine fell off the wall within the first day. The double sided tape provided let go, not from the wall but it separated within itself so that part of the tape remained on the wall and...

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, easy to use, March 18, 2006

I've owned this unit for several months now and I'm quite happy with it. It was simple to set up, I had no problem getting a strong clock signal and seems to be pretty accurate. It is certainly accurate enough for home use. The simple weather forecast function works well too.

There are two things I'd gig this unit on: One is that to reset the min/max temperatures etc. you have hold the reset button for several seconds. I'd like the time required to hold the button reduced. The other is that I'd really like for the barometric pressure to be displayed. It tracks pressure changes, but doesn't provide a pressure readout.

Both of these are relatively minor items and for the money you won't be disappointed in this unit.

The unit works great. The contrast for the data even when it is turned up all the way is extremely difficult to read except if you get right on top of it. Be careful with the outside unit. Mine fell off the wall within the first day. The double sided tape provided let go, not from the wall but it separated within itself so that part of the tape remained on the wall and part on the unit. Mount it with the screws.

Pros: Easy to set up, easy to use. useful readings.

Cons: Difficult to read except close up. Don't use the provided double sided tape it does not hold.

Update: When the unit worked it seemed to be great except hard to read. Around thirty days the outside unit failed.

I love my weather station. It has been very acurate, I like that it provides indoor and outdoor temps, humidity, and heat index. For the price I'd have to say it exceeds my initial expectations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great!, February 25, 2006

I've owned this product for several weeks now. I've had no problems picking up the outdoor temperature signal or the atomic clock signal. It seems to be accurate. (Although I don't have any precision instruments to verify this). I enjoy the fact that it's easy to read, and that it stores the min/max temperature, and what time it occurred. Great product.

So far, (owned for about 2 months), we are very pleased with it. Everything comes in the package except for the batteries. We have the remote sensor mounted on our porch. The weather unit is in our living room (about 10 feet from the outdoor sensor). I had considered getting just a temp gauge but what I like about this is: outside temp, outside humidity, inside temp and inside humidity. It also includes a simple forecast section that basically displays an up arrow for improving weather and down arrow for worsting weather. So far fairly accurate. I am interested to find out how the batteries work outside in winter with very cold NH temperatures. That as yet to be determined.

I agree with the other review here; however the one major shortcoming of this unit is that it is not able to present information in metric units (e.g. centigrade).

I had wanted something like this for a long time, and when I finally bought one last week, I've been very impressed. I like the fact that it displays the dew point temperature and the heat index. The unit & the remote sensor work well together, and the advertised 300 ft signal, follows the unit around wherever I place it in the house. The memory function is handy as well, but you must clear the readings individually on a daily basis if you wish to keep track of them in an orderly way. If you don't, the coldest or warmest reading will stay "locked in" until that temp is broken in either direction. The memory also keeps track of humidity and the other readings as well. The units forecasting ability is also very good. Case in point; for the last 4 days the weather here has been mostly sunny & very warm. The unit began forecasting rain 4 days ago! --- as of tonight, we're having heavy thunderstorms! And...as of tonight, it's graphic has changed to partly sunny, which is what we've been told to expect in the next 24 - 36 hours!

After about 2 1/2 years of very good service, our unit developed 2 problems: poor communication with the transmitter, and wacky displays of indoor temperature (100+, and it's not that hot in here!). The company says the transmitter is weakening, and suggested buying another. The odd temp readings are "rare," and their only suggestion was to make sure we're using fresh batteries (we are). Looks like we're getting a new one.
