First released as an e-series, Wish You Were Here Volume 1 (currently the second is stuff being released) seemed more like a reset for Crossed, which it really needed. After the first collection it seemed to be missing something, possibly direction and story over shock, and that seems to have returned. The art style and the way the story plays out reminds me of that feeling, the exploration to it, discovering the horrors of a new, terrible thing.

Trapped on a little island, we have our main character and a band of people basically observing the world while trying to stay alive. We get everything from his point-of-view, noting that any and everyone in these books is disposable. People die often, and in terrible ways that I'd recommend parents screen. This are not for kids in any way, deserving of the rating they get. Some of the features are mundane and yet interesting, some odd, and always over-the-top.

That's what I love about Crossed; if they made a movie of this stuff, they'd have to create a new rating for it.

If you loved the initial release, this is good stuff. I like Psychopath as well, finding Family Values a bit lacking, and Bad Lands has been pretty good depending on what storyline you pick up.

It is a very nasty comic but I have every one of them. The stories are very interesting and have dark humor. If you are into that kind of thing.... totally buy it!

It's very generic, cliché, rote, derivative and frankly boring. The author has a real bone to pick with Americans, which is fine - but it's so cliché it just feels like someone has a real chip on their shoulder. I'm not giving it a 1 star because of that, I'm giving it a one star because it has nothing new to offer.
