El-Dabh's music sounds totally unique from all the other work that the early pioneers of electronic music were doing. Nobody else took such a giant world view. Halim El-Dabh's electronic work combined everything from Native American music to opera to chanting to Egyptian mythology. The result is a fascinating fever dream of sounds and ideas that constantly challenge the listener. This CD also includes some important firsts, including the first tape manipulation piece in music history and the first electronic opera. This is truly historic music!
