This was the most well-written book I have read recently.,

This review is from: Crossing Over Jordan (Paperback)
Although the storyline is somewhat tragic, the storytelling was exceptional, and the theme was clearly communicated across characters and timeperiods. As a psychologist, I thought the author did a fine job of characterizing the psychological impact of slavery and racism on family dynamics across generations.

A Novel To Read Again,
This review is from: Crossing Over Jordan (Paperback)
I read this novel almost 2 decades ago and I remember how magnificently the storyteller gave the characters life and how the story telling was so engaging. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of lending my book out to someone and it was never returned. I have not been able to find it in book stores, until now. For any reader looking for a novel that covers multiple generations of women, defining their struggle with social issues prevalent during their lifetime and the unshakable spirit that allows each to survive in their own terms this is the read for you. This novel should be on the pre-college American Literature recommended reading list.

Good book,

I thought this was a good book to read. It gave a lot of insight into the troubles african american women of past generations faced through the life of Story. She was scared to love and be loved. Only through Story's death was her daughter Hermine able to break through her mothers wall and love her.
