Julian Turner was born in Cheadle Hulme, near Manchester, in 1955. He lives with his partner and daughter in Otley, West Yorkshire, and works for the Leeds branch of Mind, the mental health charity.

Julian Turner was born in Cheadle Hulme, near Manchester. 'Crossing the Outskirts', published in 2002, was awarded a Poetry Book Society Recommendation and was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection. He lives with his partner and daughter in northern England and works for Leeds Mind.
