This review is from: Crossroads of Intervention: Insurgency and Counterinsurgency Lessons from Central America (Paperback)
Crossroads is an academic approach to the Central American wars. Greentree, who is now a civilian advisor in Afghanistan, packs an excellent analysis and summary of events into a small volume. The title is overblown and his conclusions don't really live up to his goals. Nonetheless, it is a worthwhile read. His research includes interviews with several of the leftis guerrilla leaders as well as the written sources on the wars. What I think he missed was talking to US policy makers to get a better view of the situation.
