5.0 out of 5 stars I dare your mind not to dance, April 5, 2000
This review is from: Crossroads (Audio CD)
In my mind I see this as the music from the crossroads of the world. One where cares are put aside as you are mesmorized by a magical flute. Images dance across my mind and pictures surface of ancient civilizations.

The second song on this CD has an etherial quality with images of nomads treking across a desert. The third is a flock of birds rising from the ocean and swirling into the sky higher and higher. The forth a lazy day or a walk beside the ocean. Then you hear the sounds of insects buzzing in the African night and drums beating.

You seem to move from country to country with each song. Animals, instruments and nature burst from the next song. One song is especially beautiful and sounds like waves beating on a sandy beach. Somewhere there is a mermaid and visions of Ierland. Don't miss the rain storm or the rainforest. Just when you think your journey is over you are in the Middle East with belly dancers swiriling around you.

This is just the most amazing visualizing CD I have ever listened to. Is it just me or was this the intention. It ends with a rather pensive mood. Take this journey and tell me if I am right. You will also love Jesse Cook if you like this style of music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the Quintessential Nichalas Gunn, November 17, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Crossroads (Audio CD)
Crossroads is Nicholas Gunn's fourth album. It gravitates toward the use of more Latin rhythms; but, there are a few reminiscent moments on tracks like Quinta Essentia of his albums The Sacred Fire and The Music of the Grand Canyon.

While Crossroads may not be Gunn's quintessential project it is definitely beautiful and relaxing music.
