My mother loves this book. The puzzles are challenging but not too hard. We work them together without a dictionary or other reference. Between the two of us we can solve 90%, some only after a lot of effort. We make small errors on the other 10%, usually missing only 2 clues. It's exactly the right level for us.

Thomas Joseph, the writer, has the daily crossword in my local newspaper. I do it everyday along with some friends. I felt sure I could trust the book to have crosswords that were not too hard and not too easy either. It has not let me down. My husband and I word the puzzles at home and find them to be "just right". We buy the large print size for the ease in handling and sharing the book. I bought volumes 4 & 5 so they will last a while. If you enjoy crosswords, this is an excellent buy.

My Mom has problems with her sight and struggles to read but these puzzles are great. So many puzzle books say large print but these truly are. Not only can she see and read the puzzles it helps strengthen her memory skills. Love these books would greatly recommend for anyone sight impaired or not.
