What Is The Sound Of One Hand Clapping? ~ Exploring The Space Between The Notes, March 10, 2006
This review is from: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
How do you transform the soft evening breeze into a musical composition, or express the unspoken longings of a human heart in a series of notes and pauses? Ask composer Tan Dun for that's exactly what he's accomplished in his brilliant soundtrack for 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.'
I can't say enough about this -15 track- CD featuring the incomparable cellist Yo-Yo Ma. As you allow the music to envelope you look around. Doesn't it seem like the world is beginning to slow down, as though time itself is about to cease to exist? It's like musical Tai-Chi, gentle, flowing, connected.
One of my favorite CD soundtracks which is now OOP. Get it while you can!

AS TOUCHING AS THE FILM, March 4, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
When you hear this you feel like being transported into a world beyond time, thought, and materialism... you do not think , you only listen.
Its as touching and overwhelming as the film.
All the tracks are wondrefull except the las 2, wich in my opinion, ruin the rythm and feeling of the cd.
Still if you liked the movie I guarantee you will love this.

Some tracks are hidden Dragon, April 4, 2006
This review is from: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
If the film was able to touch you, the OST will do the same.
The most songs are no typical filmsoundtracks, they are melodik and have there own rythem. All of them use simple themes so it is easy to get in a romantik mood of listening without missing the pictures linked to the soundstrack.
If you are able to dive in calm and emotional music and you have a fable for Chinas very own romantik, you should buy it!
