5.0 out of 5 stars Love this!!!
I'm probably one of only a handful of people who would say this (then again it might just be me and my brother), but in my opinion, this is the best of the three Crow movies/soundtracks. I'm currently listening to the cd and it's just wonderful. I've had the cd since the movie came out, and the longer I have it, the more I enjoy it. Although, I think the two rap songs...

3.0 out of 5 stars All ... except for one song
Wow, I can't believe all the heat this cd got by other people because of the inclusion of the "2 rap songs". This cd is all .... except for the absolutely phenomenal track, "Tonite is a Special Nite" by Tricky and Gravediggaz. Truly one of the most innovative and sonically interesting rap tracks of all time. I'm guessin everyone else is a strictly metal fan but I'm...

Although, I think the two rap songs kind of ruin the mood a little bit. My favorites include the first five tracks (I could just sit here and listen to Bush's "In A Lonely Place" until my batteries die), NY Loose's "Spit', Korn's "Sean Olson", and Iggy Pop's "I Wanna Be Your Dog". All in all, this is a great cd and I'm glad I bought it.

Truly one of the most innovative and sonically interesting rap tracks of all time. I'm guessin everyone else is a strictly metal fan but I'm saying, listen to that track a few more times before you dismiss it... its genius. Then again anyhting with RZA involved tends to be genius.

4.0 out of 5 stars Filter, Bush, the Toadies....Remember these bands?, July 12, 2005
This review is from: The Crow: City Of Angels - Original Miramax Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I've been carrying around a battle-scarred copy of this CD for years. While I don't revisit the alt-rock hits at the beginning, I have discovered a jewel near the end of the disc - Iggy Pop's live version of "I Wanna Be Your Dog". It is an absolutely blistering track. I don't know how many people out there are Stooges fans, but this version beats the original on their first album, hands down. Iggy manages to pack more power and sleaze into 3 minutes than any of these other bands can put on an album.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great in bits and pieces; mediocre as a whole, October 21, 2000

The soundtrack to _The Crow: City of Angels_ has some excellent tracks on it that should appeal to alternative and rock fans. Filter's "Jurassitol" is excellent. Even though I'm not a fan of Hole or White Zombie, "Gold Dust Woman" and "I'm Your Boogieman" are quality songs. PJ Harvey's "Naked Cousin" and Seven Mary Three's "Shelf Life" are decent tunes, as well. The rest of this album, though, is mediocre. Tunes by Deftones, Bush, and Korn will garner some enjoyment by fans of those bands, but all sound like they were left in the b-side vault for good reason. It's not that this is a bad soundtrack, it's just that a lot of the remaining songs sound so generic.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best!!!, July 22, 2004
By
This review is from: The Crow: City Of Angels - Original Miramax Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I HAD to give this CD 5 stars since it is one of the VERY FEW cd's I've bought over the past decade where I like every song (one of four actually, the others being AC/DC - Live, Weird Al - Bad Hair Day and Gravity Kills self titled album). I bought it when it first came out and still listen to it today. The songs blend well together and carry the emotion of The Crow legacy with them. I rate this album the best in the series.

3.0 out of 5 stars The (Alternative) Radio Stars, December 22, 2008
The formula from the first soundtrack nearly works as well here; collect artists from the alternative scene let their sounds create the mood found in the movie.

The standout is Iggy Pop's blistering live rendition of I Wanna Be Your Dog, with White Zombie's hilarious take of the disco classic - I'm Your Boogie Man - titled, I'm Your Boogieman, a clear second choice. Fleetwood Mac's Gold Dust Woman receives a new look from Hole and Sean Olson by Korn is a solid performance.

With PJ Harvey, Seven Mary Three, the Deftones and Tricky vs. The Gravediggaz, the vibe provides a nice cross-section into a more progressive FM radio playlist, but a good listen, nonetheless.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Good When I Lost It I Had To Buy It Again !!, December 25, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Crow: City Of Angels - Original Miramax Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I originally bought this CD for one song only.. Gold Dust Woman. I am a Hole fan and not only that, loved the original recording of the song by Stevie Nicks. But, loving rock, heard White Zombie.. Korn, and more and totally fell in love with the entire album. INCLUDING the rap! This is definately a good mix of songs.. capping off a great series of movies. All sorts of fans can get into this CD, crow fans, Hole fans, rock fans, rap fans... great music! Gotta love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best soundtrack ever!!!, March 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Crow: City Of Angels - Original Miramax Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I've got so many soundtracks, such as Titanic, City of Angels, Days of Thunder, D2 : The Mighty Ducks, Twister, The Faculty, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, and others. A lot of these soundtracks are very good, but they don't compare to The Crow : City of Angels. I've had this soundtrack for quite some time and even though I still buy other soundtracks I just can't get bored of this one. Hole, Bush, and Deftones have some good songs on there. Though the reason why I keep listening is because of "I'm Your Boogieman" by White Zombie, "Jurassitol" by Filter, "Sean Olson" by Korn, and "I Wanna Be Your Dog (live)" by Iggy Pop. These songs are the reason why I never get bored with it. If your a hard rock fan like myself then this soundtrack is perfect for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad...not bad at all, August 10, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Crow: City Of Angels - Original Miramax Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
It's a fairly good soundtrack, I have to admit. I'm Your Boogieman, Teething, Jurassitol, and I Wanna Be Your Dog are probably the best songs on the CD. Lots of great ones, though. With bands like Hole, White Zombie, Filter, Deftones, Iggy Pop, Korn, and others, what do you expect? However, the one bad aspect of this CD is the two rap songs. They are really the only bad parts of the CD. I highly recommend this album, though. It's well worth it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not nearly as good as the first but it's not without some great tracks..., September 23, 2006

This review is from: The Crow: City Of Angels - Original Miramax Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Straight to the point. This album is not nearly as good as the first. But Hole, Rob Zombie, Filter, Pj Harvey, Bush (surprisingly amazing with the Joy Division cover... cause apparently this franchise really digs those), and Iggy Pop all have great songs so it certainly isn't a waste of money. But many of the other songs(and artists) have not withstood the test of time. I would say go grab some of the songs off of this, and a couple of the songs of the abysmal follow up (The Crow 3: A Movie No One Has Seen) and call it a day.
