5.0 out of 5 stars Great Average Joe to Geek Show!!!
I happened to catch this show while on Nexflix. Luckily, that was the only way I could check it out. American TV channels need to pick this series up. It'd fit in perfectly with either Adult Swin or G4. Moss is a Hoot. Douglas's additition is genius, best tv character in a long while.

If you enjoy The Big Bang Theory, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, or The...

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing...
I could barely get through the first episode. It reminded me of that fictional Brit sitcom in the second season of Extras, I believe it was called "When the Whistle Blows", wherein every hoary cliche of British television comedy is enacted. Quite cheesey and predictable - you know where all the jokes are going before they're uttered - almost to the point where I had a...

If you enjoy The Big Bang Theory, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, or The Office I suggest giving this TV series a serious look. It gets really funny when season 3 starts.

Season (series) 4 starts filming in March 2010. Woot. Can't wait.

This is the wittiest, funiest comedy I have ever seen. Americans should be so lucky to see the likes of such a program.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best comedy sitcom in a long time, February 20, 2010
This review is from: The IT Crowd: The Complete Series (Seasons 1, 2 & 3) (DVD)
If not for Netflix streaming service, I likely would've never stumbled upon The IT Crowd. The episodes get better and better as the writers and actors find their grooves and run with what works for the show, into seasons 2 and 3.

The pokes at corporate culture are needed these days, and there's nothing better than well-done humor involving scenarios of misunderstanding that escalate into increasing levels of hilarity, when cast with such great, relatable actors. They all have flaws and remind of us of oursevles in some way, without resorting to mindless American reality television.

American producers just don't get it, their sitcoms are shiny and spotless and controlled, corporate and only dip shamelessly into creative and truly witty or uncomfortable humor, but that is very rare. They'd just assume toss you low cost reality TV. After all, you have hundreds of options, but hardly anything on TV is worth anyone's time these days across the board.

The IT Crowd's lack of popularity is a blessing, as are most highly visible media projects these days that are worthwhile. It's completely unpretentious British humor that is extremely relatable in today's global corporate culture, where a growing mass of people are trying to survive and find meaning or logic or some happiness while spending the vast majority of their time doing unfulfilling, pointless jobs, for people that can't remember their names.

Best comedy sitcom of this decade, and no one knows about it. Fitting!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!, January 30, 2010
This review is from: The IT Crowd: The Complete Series (Seasons 1, 2 & 3) (DVD)
I bought this series for my sister at Christmas, but I wasn't sure if she'd like it. We watched the first two seasons in one day- it was nonstop comedy. My only complaint is that the seasons are too short (I guess British shows are normally about six episodes per season)- I wished there were more episodes to watch.

For anyone who can relate to working at a boring, mundane job and likes British humor, The It Crowd is for you!

We LOVE to watch this series over and over. It always brings a laugh and we've watched them all 3 or 4 times. If only all comedies could be this committed!

I also stumbled across this show on Netflix streaming. I am a 40 year old woman and LOVE this show. I think my husband and I have watched each episode three or four times. It just does not get old. Even my kids love this show- though not all of the episodes are appropriate for kids. I keep waiting for Netflix to get the other seasons. We have even gotten my husband's parents and my parents hooked on this show. It is laugh out loud, bring tears to your eyes comic genius.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great show for IT people, April 11, 2010
This review is from: The IT Crowd: The Complete Series (Seasons 1, 2 & 3) (DVD)
If you work in IT or are a person who tends to fix other people's computing issues, you might want to check this series out. Of course, it helps if you like British humor.

You may also like it if you've ever said these phrases:

"Have you tried turning it off and back on again?"

"Do you know what a button is?"

"Is it plugged in?"

"I've got a gun!"

I bought it for my Dad after I saw the first season on Netflix. In all reality, the first episode had me hooked and I had to share it with my family. Great buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Zany British Humour, May 8, 2011
This review is from: The IT Crowd: The Complete Series (Seasons 1, 2 & 3) (DVD)
I love the humour in this show! The actors are all comedic geniuses.
Only bad thing: there are only 6 episodes per season. Can't get enough.
Oh... and they sometimes use foul language. But other than that, this show is terrific.
