Halvorsen's book is full of great ideas--there's definitely something to please everyone. The emphasis is on comfort food. The recipes are all pretty easy, with friendly tips on making things ahead and serving them. If you're ever invited out and want to bring a contribution to the meal (which pleases most busy hostesses no end, I find)--salad, main course, side, or dessert--this book is for you.
