I should have known "Aluminum Case" meant a material as flimsy as card board inside of an aluminum frame that is supposed to hold these chips in their rows. The brackets that are in the case aren't fixed and are likely to shift and move, scraping the felt interior.
Do yourself a favor if you're in want of this many poker chips: Buy the chips alone, the case isn't worth squat. You'll find something better to accommodate your 1000 chips.
