Super speed,
This review is from: Crucial 4Gb Lexar Media Professional Udma 300X Compactflash Cf4Gb-300-380 (Personal Computers)
I use this card in my Sony Alpha 700. There is a huge difference in camera performance and in uploading to my computer using this card compared to slower speed cards. Your camera or device must be capable of using 300X or you won't get full benefit from this card. Check your device documentation before you spend the premium price for a 300X card.

Have had it in my Canon 5D for a few months now. Works perfectly -- just like all the other Lexar CF cards I've owned.

I started using Lexar 1GB 80X then I purchased a 2GB 133X Now I have the 4GB 300X and I'm very satisfied. I'm using them in my D70 for now.
I have and will recomend this to my friends.

This is the best card that I have ever used, it's very reliable and fast, specially if the reader has a firewire 800 connection.

I have always experienced superior performance from Lexar cards. This Crucial 300x speed version in particular operates flawlessly, and at light speed: In my Canon 50D, the processing light just barely flickers, and it's ready to go again. And these are large RAW files. Admittedly, I don't do much extended rapid-fire type photography, but I've never yet reached the burst limit with this combo. The upload speed rate is also a MAJOR factor: With a card of this capacity, a full load could take a long time to transfer the goods__ but it's expeditious! I haven't done "bench tests", but the performance on both ends of CF card workloads can't be rivaled by anything else currently on the market. And when the bar is raised, I'm sure that it will be by Lexar itself!

There's not much to say, as I didn't do bench-testing! :-) But I have a long relationship with Lexar products and like all the other cards I've used, this is reliable. It is fast, as advertised, in downloading from card to computer via a UDMA reader, and the value has become quite good. A good size for a single outing or to have on hand for daily use over time.
Great product, good price these days. "No worries... it's all good."

People say all cards are the same, but hey that's there opinion, I say you go out and spend some large dollars on a camera then cut cost by buying a cheap card? I want to be sure that I have the best card on the market that can keep up with the camera, (before you buy this card you should do your homework and then make your selection, DO NOT let sales people or reviews sway your selection, use reviews as a guide) I have been very pleased with this card, it is fast and I TRUST that it will not fail me, if you find a card out there that you feel the same way, then by all means get it.

I have been using Lexar Compact Flash in my cameras for years. Unfortunately, this one did not work in my camera. However, I will continue to purchase Lexar products.

I own three Lexar cards... It is very likely I will never own four. All the rest of my cards are SanDisk Extreme III & Extreme IV cards. The first Lexar I purchased failed during a destination wedding... luckily I knew enough to stop using it immediately and was able to save the pictures. The next two Lexar cards ( figured I would give them one more shot ) were these 4GB UDMA cards... one failed on the very first time out. The other card 'seems to be ok', but I use it sparingly and with great attention. I called Lexar about the first card failing within minutes of taking it out of the package. I have never been given such a run around in my life! Basically I'm stuck with a card I dare not use on a job and the other that I am painfully mistrustful of...
Stick with the SanDisk cards. I have a dozen of the SanDisk Extreme series of cards and not one has ever failed -and I use them constantly being a professional. Maybe Lexar should put the money they spend on packaging back into quality control instead... just my humble experience.... |
