The RAM was perfectly compatible with my mid-2008 MacBookPro. One piece of advice- you need a Philips Size #00 screwdriver to open the door on the RAM compartment of the MacBookPro. 1.0 out of 5 stars Don't use with Mac
Mac issue only: The memory lacks a temperature sensor and thus caused my Mac fan to run constantly at full blast. Web research confirms the issue is unique to Crucial brand. I replaced with Kensington RAM. Fan is now quiet.

This ram is exactly what it says it is. When purchasing ram make sure all the numbers match up with your computer and take into account that many computers cannot utilized all of the ram's potential. For example, my current computer can only utilize a little over 3 GB of this ram, but a computer with a 64-bit processor would be able to utilize all 4 GB.

I purchased 2 sets of this RAM for 2 Mac Mini's. (Intel Core 2 Duo's) Works great, speed is great and the cost is way below Apple's price.
Tested 100% on both Mini's as well.

Changing the memory was piece of cake. I used it on a white macbook 4,1 for over a month and had no problems so far. Mac OS recognized the whole 4GB, no problems there.
*****
I can confirm that the battery is screwed up after the memory upgrade. The laptop suddenly complained that the battery is empty and shut down immediately after even if the power indicators on the battery showed that it was half full. I had to drain the battery three times before I got back to my normal 3.5h battery life.

I prefer this over Kingston any day. I had a Kingston that died on me when I had a 2007 Mac mini. I seen that Crucial uses Micron so I was pretty much sold since Apple uses Micron as one of the OEM memory suppliers. If you want reliability get the Crucial Memory it's priced a lot cheaper than going to Apple and ironically Apple uses the same company Crucial uses for it's OEM Memory.

I bought this kit for my white 13" MacBook and I was not disappointed. Crucial produced high quality RAM that is still very affordable. The install was smooth and uncomplicated and haven't had a hiccup since installing the RAM two weeks ago. I went from 1 GB to 4 and it has made a world of difference. This kit is well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Far So Good, March 19, 2009
This review is from: Crucial 200-Pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-5300 CL=5 Unbuffered NON-ECC DDR2-667 1.8V 256 Megx64 2 GBx2 4 GB Kit Memory Modules CT2CP25664AC667 (Personal Computers)
I purchased this upgrade kit to increase the amount of memory in my imac. This memory was easy to install and I literally had the entire upgrade completed in under three minues. It was instantaly recognized and was worth the price. The performance improvement was instantaly noticeable. My system booted much faster into both the Mac OS and Windows Vista. I was not unhappy with the one GB of memory that came standard with my imac, but adding the additional memory took me to a whole new level. It's like going from a Chevy Impala, to a Corvette. (Sorry for the bad car comparison). But it is that dramatic. Spent the money, it's the cheapest most rewarding upgrade you can do for your system. Also Crucial stands behind the product with a lifetime warranty. How could you go wrong?

Purchased this memory to replace the OEM memory in my 15" MacBook Pro (2.2ghz Core 2 Duo) and max it out at 4gb. Works perfectly, no compatibility issues in over 3 weeks of use. Much better deal than the ridiculous price wanted by Apple or so-called Apple "expert" resellers.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Easy an Non-Tech-Savvy Woman Can Do It, April 15, 2010

The only thing I really know technically-speaking about computers is how to boot them up and enter my password. So when I needed to upgrade my memory (had those pesky messages about my start up disk being almost full), I went searching for some Apple specialist to increase my memory. Well, at over $100 with an additional charge of $20 installation per card, I figured I could just follow a friend's advice and purchase the memory thingamabobbers to install myself. How bad could it be? Turns out, not that bad at all. After popping out the battery on my 2006 White 13" Macbook, and loosening screws in a few places, I pulled the lil stick thingy and out popped one of my old cards.I did the same to the other one. I was careful to note the position of the cards. Then I pushed my new cards in place, struggled to screw the metal bar thingy back shut (darn minuscule screws), secured the battery and turned on my laptop and...instead of 4GB it read 2GB. Hmmm...after a week or so of procrastination, I took the initiative (got that darn start up disk full message again) to try it again, I mean one of the cards obviously did read. When I unscrewed the metal thing again, I saw the problem. I did not put one of the cards in right. I made sure it was in securely this time, restarted my computer and...it read 4GB. So, yes, installation is so easy a non-tech-savvy woman can do it. I'm proof positive. BTW: my computer works like a charm.
