I bought this upgrade to the 2 x 2GB sticks in my Mid-2010 Macbook Pro 15" i5. I had no compatibility issues and it produced a very noticeable speed boost. If you feel your Mac is in need of more memory, I would recommend the following to know if your RAM is the issue: Open Utilities folder -> Open "Activity Monitor" -> Click the tab at the bottom labeled "System Memory" -> Just below that, you should see a few sets of data...The important ones are:

"Free" : If your "Free" memory is low (or 0!) you probably need more memory.
"Page Outs" : If the "Page Outs" is high, this means that your computer is using hard disk rather than RAM for memory functions and produces a severe loss in speed.
"Swap Used" : This gives a rough estimate of how much hard disk is used for RAM. This will give you a rough idea of how much RAM you should add. i.e. if this is 4 GB, then you should add at least 4 GB.

You should check these numbers while doing the types of activities you normally use your computer for. Not just at idle with nothing running!

As far as this item goes, Crucial is a known Apple-friendly RAM and is unlikely to give you any issues. It is also a high quality manufacturer and is much more reliable than some cheaper brands. Remember, RAM is dirt cheap these days so don't save a few $$ to buy inferior quality RAM! You should just not buy any if you are going to buy a terrible brand.

For people with a Macbook Pro, install is quite easy. You can find many manuals on the internet (I prefer iFixit). Don't be intimidated buy installing it. You can save a lot of money by doing it yourself. If you feel uncomfortable, then by all means have someone qualified to do it for you.

Purchased the 8GB upgrade kit for my late 2009 IMac. Installation takes about 10 minutes and only requires a small phillips head screwdriver. For those that are unfamiliar with Crucial, it is owned by Micron Technologies, one of the best USA based chip manufacturers and an OEM supplier to many companies, including Apple. This memory upgrade is one of the cheapest ways to boost performance and extend the lifecycle of your Mac.

My late 2008 aluminum unibody macbook was frustratingly slow. By upgrading from 2GB to 4GB RAM, I have noticed a signifigant improvement, and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Installing the RAM requires a very small phillips screwdriver and possibly a pair of needle nose pliers to pull out the existing RAM (depends on your dexterity).

FYI: Despite Apple's claims, 8GB of RAM WILL work in the late 2008 unibody aluminum macbook, according to several reputable articles I've seen. (Just in case 4GB isn't enough for you)

Upgraded my RAM to 8GB with this kit. Mine is an early 2009 24" iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo running at 2.66 GHz. (iMac9,1)
Installation was fast and easy after watching some videos on YouTube.
Wish I had done this sooner.

Firmware was already updated with Mountain Lion. Mac recognized the 8GB instead of just 6GB. Mac has been running a lot faster and handling multitasking with great ease. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking into upgrading their Mac's.

Normally, I would post a list of pros and cons for a product I'm reviewing however this review is specifically for users of Synology based products. I own a Synology DS1813+ network attached storage appliance ( NAS ). In a nutshell, the Crucial 2GB DDR3 1066 MT/s (PC3-8500) CL7 SODIMM 204-pin memory memory works perfectly in my unit.

I created this review because my search for a compatible memory module was limited in that the Synology website - while it listed the compatible settings for the memory I needed, it didn't list compatible memory manufacturers. I felt I should contribute my findings for other users looking for similar memory.

Installation was a breeze, shutdown the unit, remove the top cover (attached with small phillips head screws), install the new module, and finally verify the memory was recognized by the system after rebooting. Up-time has only been a few days but I'm experiencing no issues whatsoever.

Finally, remember to use anti static precautions when you install,

I home this review helps!

My Mac Mini from mid-2010 had 2GB RAM and was running a bit slow. These memory chips were perfect for it, installed in 5 minutes, and booted up good on the first try.

Here are a few notes. Some reviews said they had problems with Mac Mini; I did not. The main things I would suggest are: take care to hold the cards by the edges and do not touch the chips or circuits; make sure the cards are inserted all the way -- the gold edging will completely or almost completely disappear when inserted and then show a little more when the cards are pressed down to lock; be sure to lock the cards down flat before closing the computer.

The Mini is running quite a bit faster now in launching programs, and my next upgrade will be to put OSX Mavericks on it. I'd be happy to get these chips again and will update in the (unlikely) case there's anything more to say. Cheers!
