5.0 out of 5 stars This book was wonderful!!!!!
I am a fan of the so-called splatter-punk genre. This is by far the best example of this genre out on the market today. The plot itself is a twisted take on the old fairy tale "The Pied Piper of Hamlin." I loved this book!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Ehhh.....
I heard lots of good things about "Crucifax Autumn." It is a supposed classic of the late 80's "splatterpunk" genre and is infamous for one graphic abortion scene.

The novel is a re-telling of the Pied Piper legend set in 1980's southern California. The book comes across quite dated, as the descriptions of the characters are straight out of the L.A. glam...

I heard lots of good things about "Crucifax Autumn." It is a supposed classic of the late 80's "splatterpunk" genre and is infamous for one graphic abortion scene.

The novel is a re-telling of the Pied Piper legend set in 1980's southern California. The book comes across quite dated, as the descriptions of the characters are straight out of the L.A. glam /hair metal scene that is thankfully long gone.

This version of the book is so hard to find that I had to get the Boston Public Library to borrow it from some library in Kentucky. (Apparently, only 40 libraries in the U.S. have the book on their shelves) As you can see, it's pricey to buy.

So is it worth it? Well, no. It's not a bad horror novel, but certainly not worthy of its reputation. A lot of teenage sex, incest, drug abuse, and these stupid rat-like things that do the evil "piper" character's bidding.

Not what I expected, definitely not worth $75.
