This review is from: Crude Oil Waxes, Emulsions, and Asphaltenes (Paperback)
This book aims to collect and present a great deal of disperse information concerning waxes, emulsions and asphaltenes that nowadays have become key issues in deepwater hydrocarbon developments. The book, however, is not easy to navigate through for its organization is not clear and it deals with the subject in a very segmented manner. Chapters does not develop following a clear sequence of topics since too many topics are briefly covered and it is not always apparent how they link to each other. Some topics are so briefly dealt with that you are left wondering why they were included in the book ...
The index at the end of the book is not very helpful either. I was looking up for a definition and correlations of the cloud point (very fundamental concept in wax deposition) and never found it. After some half hour of browsing back and forth I finally quit. My perception is that to get something from this book you must read it from beginning to end, and that is seldom the case unless it is the textbook of your college class. |
