"Makow blew the whistle on feminism. The cumulative impact of these essays is enormous. This book may change the way you see the world." --Jeff Rense --Rense.com
About the Author
Henry Makow (born November 12, 1949) is a Canadian conspiracy theorist, author, columnist, and inventor of the board game Scruples. Makow was born in Zürich, Switzerland. As an infant, he moved with his family to Canada, settling in Ottawa. At the age of 11, he began to write the syndicated advice-to-parents column "Ask Henry," which ran in 50 newspapers in the early 1960s[citation needed] and was published in book form in 1962.[1] He appeared as a guest on What's My Line? and stumped the panel.
"Cruel Hoax" is one of those rare, life-changing books which most readers will wish they had discovered years ago. Had I known what author Henry Makow has so clearly revealed and explained in this book when I was in college, the essential mystery of the male-female relationship would have become comprehensible. Instead, I faced the future devoid of a clear understanding as to what hidden forces were shaping the ever changing interplay of men and women to each other and to family, children and society.
While reading this revelatory work, I could not help being transported back to the first time I stumbled across the work of Marshall McLuhan and his book, "The Mechanical Bride", a book which dissected the effects of the advertising industry both immediately before and after WWII. In it, McLuhan described how the psychological manipulators of Madison Avenue, armed with the work and insight of Edward Bernays, Sigmund Freud's nephew, were able to tailor their advertising to not simply sell products, but more importantly, to manipulate men and women at the most fundamental levels by stimulating their most basic hopes and fears of upward mobility, social acceptance and sexual desirability in order to move products. It, too, was a life changing book for me. For rather than continue to think of society as something which organically progressed and grew of its own unconscious accord, I realized that hidden manipulators, thru the subtle tailoring of advertising which addressed fundamental fears, needs and desires of individuals within society, were capable of directing that society towards certain predetermined ends.Read more ›

I started reading Makow after 9/11. He explained how that attack and feminism were part of a larger assault on us. In 2001, I was in disbelief. It took me a few years to see that I was a feminist and didn't even know it. Cruel Hoax is simply "transformative." It will allow others to experience rapidly the "about face" that took me six years. And it will relieve you of a lot of needless guilt in the process.

The book Cruel Hoax is a bold book that basically brings forward most of the things that are corrupt in this world. Dr. Makow has a gift to bring forward the truth with clear and interesting writing. He has a special insight that detects such disturbing agendas of the elite such as homosexuality, feminism, communism, social engineering and much more. We are very much engineered to believe everything that we see, however, after reading this book I will tell you that my eyes opened up. Just read the book you'll gain a lot of knowledge that you were not taught in schools and universities. A courageous, strong and able author; thank you Dr. Makow.

I finished Cruel Hoax this afternoon. I enjoyed it very much.
I can say without reservation that I can put Henry Makow in the Pantheon with other courageous people I know. To qualify for a place of honour, someone has to look for the truth and honestly report what he finds -- especially if doing so has a personal cost. Some other people in the Pantheon are: Alfred Lilienthal and his assistant Suzanne Nicole, Norman Finkelstein, Jennifer Loewenstein, Ran HaCohen, Mearsheimer and Walt, and Noam Chomsky. Henry Makow is in good company. This club is growing. So watch out.
Makow's main thesis is that we human beings are under attack on all fronts. His case is well made. "Feminism" has been a brilliant method to neuter and demoralize both men and women, destroy the family and introduce a bacillus into the body politic which has wreaked havoc and which may be fatal.
Henry Makow's overview of the disasters of the 20th Century as orchestrated by the super rich -- the Illuminati -- makes sense: EVERYBODY is a victim in this tragedy which keeps unfolding day after day as the new millennium develops. Serious people need to take a serious look.

This book literally, with accurate description, describes the overall problem that is affecting western society today: the destruction of positive male-female relations along with the mass acceptence of "alternative" sexuality which is just an inversion of natural male-female dynamics. The tome also ventures into globalism and the Luciferian spiritual dynamics of the emerging New World Order. While truly enlightening at times and generally well cited (though in an unprofessional manner) , Dr. Makow could of published a better product by making the book more academic, with proper endnotes and a bibliography. I presume this would have been no great task for him seeing that he holds a doctorate in English Literature. Instead, the book is simply a collection of articles previously published on his vast website, [...]. Overall, a general good starting place for someone studying the New World Order and the destruction of the family for the first time. Follow the leads Dr. Makow presents and they will present a wealth of information to help formulate a clearer big picture of the unfolding events of our world today and their roots. Some personally recommended follow up books upon reading Cruel Hoax are: None Dare Call It Conspiracy by Gary Allen, Shadows of Power by James Perloff, The Creature from Jekyll Island by G. Edward Griffin, and One World by Tal Brooke. Also study the works of Professor Antony C. Sutton on the collaboration between monopolistic capitalism and communist tyranny. Lastly, research the correlation between the Power Elite and cultural Marxism, feminism, and the politics of the destruction of the nuclear family.
