3.0 out of 5 stars Benjamin Diamond - Cruise Control, September 21, 2011
This review is from: Cruise Control (Audio CD)
Benjamin Diamond continues to step out of the shadow of Stardust with his 3rd album, CRUISE CONTROL. "1000 Lives" kicks things off promisingly, a little sparkling pop confection, and "Still" is another bauble on the charm bracelet. "The Letter" has a gentle guitar and a cello to emphasize the chorus, while "The Other Side" leans more on pop rock. But the disco comes in with "Same All Things," a Auto-tuned pleasantry. A few of the tracks fade into obscurity quickly, like the electro-tinged "Looking 4 a Sign" or the trying-too-hard "Miss U," but these are ameliorated by tracks like "This is It," with its calm romanticism. French pop still has its diamond in the rough.
