Sarah Mayberry delivers another great Blaze story with all the right elements -- hot vibes, well-rounded characters, a solid plot, and a helluva lot of fun. You won't be sorry you bought this -- it's a guaranteed great read.

This book was very entertaining. It's not as complex and heartwarming as Sarah's other books, but more consistent with other books within the Blaze collection. It was very funny and filled with really HOT scenes. Both main characters are loveable, and it was a pleasure to spend an afternoon reading about them.

Just about everything Sarah Mayberry writes is wonderful, be it a SuperRomance or the sexier Blaze titles. This is not my favourite book by her, yet it is filled with her usual wonderful characters and smart dialogue, and it's always great to read a category romance set in Australia.
Anna survived breast cancer, but her illness has caused her to reconsider her life. She's turned her back on a fancy law career to start her own chauffeur business. She's not looking for a relationship, but is open to the possibility of a fling. Marc is a self-made millionaire, but he lost his marriage in the process of making his career. He's not on the lookout for a relationship either, but is also happy with a fling. Of course the two of them fall in love despite themselves. One of Mayberry's strengths is her secondary characters. They're always as well-rounded and believable as her leads, and I never feel as though they're intruding on the story. I loved Anna's brother. This book did everything I wanted it to, and the author is definitely one of the Blaze line's strongest writers. Her characters have their little quirks, and there's a lot of fun as well as enough depth to make you care about the outcome. Mayberry's writing has become a bit sharper since Cruise Control - there's some word repetition I picked up on in this one that you won't find in her more recent books - but my complaints are few and far between. This is definitely worth the few dollars, and was exactly what I wanted from this kind of read.

Review of 'Cruise Control',

She's going to drive him wild...
What good is a second chance if you don't take a risk? That's what limo driver Anna Jackson asks when the seriously hot Marc Lewis climbs in her car. She's changed her looks, her career and now it's time to shed the conservative habits of a lifetime. And seducing Marc is the best way to do that. Sure, he's her client--sort of off-limits--but she's not wrong about the invitation in his eyes. All she has to do is remember three simple rules--never stay overnight, make no plans for the future and never, ever talk about emotions. Once they hit the sheets, however, rules aren't so easy to follow. And once they spend the night, can feelings be far behind? Sarah Mayberry writes a 'Five Star', with interesting characters and steamy scenes that will knock your socks off! |
