Cruise of the Dazzler is a wonderful book. I think it should be translated to film because the setting in the early 1900s in the San Francisco Bay Area is intriguing and very exciting. It has a positive message for youth of any time period, including today. The book reminds me of Huckleberry Finn in San Francisco.
However, I do not like the book layout from the publisher General Books LLC. The clumsy layout, lack of illustrations, gives the story no justice! The intro does explain why this publisher uses no illustrations and how they are economical in producing huge numbers of classics with a scanning machine. However, there are terrible line breaks in the book. The style of this book is not my cup of tea, but I am sure others wouldn't mind it to save a penny. I'd rather read this book on Kindle or check the book out from the library, than own this plain and clumsy copy! |
