The track listing that is shown here may be incorrect. The disc I had included "Pushin' Too Hard" by The Seeds, "Walk Away Renee" by The Left Banke, and "Sweet Pea" by Tommy Roe instead of "Devil With a Blue Dress", "Hanky Panky" and "See You in September". ...BR>Anyway, it's a great disc featuring Seattle disc jockey Pat O'Day spinning the platters during a typical radio show on KJR in 1966. Keep in mind that you don't purchase this disc for the songs but rather the opportunity to hear what radio was like during the golden days of Top 40 radio. O'Day often talks over the intros of the songs and the sound quality isn't up to par with what you would find on an oldies disc put out by Collectibles, Rhino, Eric or other reissue labels. But this disc and the "Cruisin' 1967" disc are among my most played CDs because they're so much fun to listen to. I just wish they were longer!

Pat O'Day and Lan Roberts were my Fave D.J.s!

I graduated high school in 1966 and this

compilation captures the essence of that year!

I used to own this title on vinyl and find the

CD is missing 2 tracks. One was "Pushin'Too Hard"

by The Seeds and I can't remember the other.

I attended the concert advertised on this at the

Aqua Theater. It was great! (and only $3.00!)

I recommend this disc for those who grew up in the PNW in that era!

It will bring back memories!

Full disclosure: I grew up listening to KJR in the 1960's when I was a little kid, so I'm prejudiced. Having said that, this album really captures the feel of what listening to KJR was like back then when they were getting 40 shares in the Arbitron ratings (conversely, if you get above 7 these days in Seattle, you're number one).

There was a sense of energy and fun with KJR that you had to experience, and it really shows through here. I have all but one of the Cruisin' albums (I'm missing the legendary '70 album because I'd have to refinance my hosue to afford it), and this may be the best of all, although there's a lot to be said for the Robert W. Morgan and Arnie "Woo Woo" Ginsburg albums. If you only buy one album in the series, you could do a lot worse than this one.

Growing up in the Greater Puget Sound area in the 1960's & 1970's, Seattle Radio was at its best, and KJR was THE Number One station. I knew when I was 10 years old that I wanted to become a Disc Jockey and I wanted to work for KJR. I don't know how many people get to live their dreams, but I was just lucky I guess. Pat O'Day was one of my heroes, and I was lucky enough to work for KJR in the 1970's. After I gruadated out of broadcasting school in 1985, I was hired by Pat O'Day to work mornings at KXA... a childhood dream come true. I Thank Mr. O'Day for the opportunity I was given. Those were the best days of my life, and something I will never forget. To those of you who grew up in the Seattle area and hear Pat O'Day will appreciate and enjoy this "Aircheck" CD, and bring back many great memories of days gone by. Enjoy and Stay 2nd :-)
