Although I was not new to online dating, I had not done it in more than a year. This book renewed by enthusiasm for meeting men in cyberspace. I read the book in one sitting and loved it. It is filled with very practical and useful information, especially for those who are new to using the internet as a matchmaker. Dr. Ludwig has included case examples from her own experience as well as from friends. She shares many very practical suggestions and de-mystifies this popular way of meeting new people. The content is both serious and funny at the same time, e.g. the chapter on "premature telephonation" explains reasons not to give out your phone number too early in the relationship. A "must read" for singles over 40 who are new to online dating.

Dr. Ludwig warmly welcomes novices to the world of online dating, while introducing the already cybersavy to new heights of cybersmarts. From your personal profile, picture, the presentation of your initial e-mail, sizing up and managing your incoming response or protecting yourself, Ludwig leaves nothing to chance. The book is rich with examples of real life situations, great and not so great e-mails and e-mail responses. Comparing online dating with some of the more conventional alternatives, Ludwig leaves readers with a sense of hope and excitement, as she artfully prepares them to apply effective searching and selecting techniques. Although I am happily married and not about to engage in online dating, I found this book to be quite entertaining, while providing insight into online dating. It was a fun read.
