Good but not quite great August 31, 2008

As with the Dreadful Embarrassment bag, this bag has sufficient capacity, lovely inside pockets, and is comfortable to carry. The biggest drawback is that it has no handle on the top - you have to either hold it under your arm or carry it by the shoulder strap. When getting in and out of a car, that's a pain.

I find the interior pockets to be okay but not great - they don't seem to be well designed to hold the things I want to put in them.

Overall, I like the bag. And I'm looking for one I'll like better.

PERFECT for a post-grad July 28, 2008

First things first: when you get the bag, it takes some "breaking in". The nylon is tough (which is good), but that means it will be stiff and needs a few days to loosen up. After that, it's an awesome bag. Comfortable to carry, very very durable (I would rate it up there with LL Bean quality, for those of you who've had the same backpack since grade school... you know who you are). The 15" MacBook Pro fits absolutely perfectly in the sleeve, with no room to spare (but that's good... it won't shift around on you).

Now the bad news: even after break in, it's not as spacious as you might hope. I would not recommend this bag for current students (having just graduated from college 2 months ago, I know). Once you get your laptop in there, you realistically only have room for one, maybe two, text books if you're also carrying your charger and some other bulky stuff. For newly minted professionals, this bag is perfect, especially the black. It's sleek, minimalist, and professional, while at the same time still retaining some youthfulness. All of that, plus if your only carrying your laptop and a notebook everyday, like me, the bag is lightweight and comfortable.

Great product, and I would most definitely recommend it!

Useful but not perfect March 20, 2009

I recently purchased the Considerable Embarrassment and think it does a pretty nice job of fitting a lot of my stuff (although I always need more space) without being gigantic.

I agree with other reviewers who mentioned that the laptop holding portion of the bag doesn't go all the way to the bottom which can cause other things in the bag to get stuck or bent under it. I also agree that it would be helpful to have some outer pockets that were easily accessible without having to undo the buckles and velcro. Additionally, it seems heavier than one would expect given what is in the bag. I think it might have to do with the padding.

Overall, this has been a good purchase.
