Not too styly but very, very functional,
This review is from: Crumpler The 8 Million Dollar Home (Black/Gun Metal) (Electronics)
I bought this bag to hold a 15 inch laptop and all the assorted stuff that goes with. It holds my T60 laptop (sideways) in it's rigid sleeve in the center compartment. The configurable interior makes keeping cables, cameras, phones and extra stuff simple and orderly. Very tough, very comfortable and best of all it stands upright when emptied unlike most floppy messenger bags. The velcro interior dividers are highly configurable and the velcro sticks them firmly in place. Setting up the compartment spacing took a few minutes. I dinged the score on this bag one star because it smelled like a petro-chemical plant when it first arrived. That has subsided with a little time. Good bag - would buy again.

This is a BIG bag - don't fill it unless you have a porter or a pony & cart. Still, you can be confident that it will hold everything you need for a shoot: camera bodies, lenses, strobes, notebook/netbook/iPad, cables, batteries ... you can even clip a tripod to the loops on the side.Crumpler bags are beautifully made. The design is well thought out, the materials are first rate and the stitching is perfect. The strap on the 8MDH is the strongest, most heavy-duty seatbelt webbing that I've ever seen - another temptation to overfill it. The "laptop sleeve" that came with my 8MDH is actually a padded divider with Crumpler's notorious, industrial strength Velcro on three edges. Stick it to the bottom and opposite sides of the bag, rearrange the other internal dividers as you wish, and you can carry a notebook or iPad along with other camera gear. Bottom line: this is the biggest camera bag that I've got. I've not used it as a carry-on yet, but that'll happen. It doesn't scream "CAMERA BAG / LAPTOP BAG" (the round Crumpler logo has been replaced with a more subtle tag - maybe a 2011 "upgrade"?), but it's certainly both. I have NO reservations, absolutely none, about recommending the 8MDH to any and all photographers who need safe, convenient transportation for their DSLRs and associated gear. ...hobofoto

This bag looks bigger than I expected but it is a well constructed bag. I can fit 2 lens (24-70 Nikon 2.8G and 70-200 Nikon 2.8G) with my D700. There are still rooms for other accessories like charger and extra battery. The strap is very comfortable. I highly recommend this.

Nice big bag,

Thought this bag will be too big for carrying the camera and 2 lens. I then brought the bag with Nikon D700 with the 70-200mm lens and 24-70mm lens separately. There is still room for the chargers. Perfect fit with 1 lens with the body and an extra lens to be put in the bag with extra room for accessories.

This bag was worth every penny. It says it's for a 13" laptop, but I use it with a 14" Samsung QX410, and it just fits lengthwise in the bag. The Samsung is 13-3/4" wide and 1" thick. It also holds two D7000 bodies and a handful of small zooms, flashes, and cables and filters. It comes with a whole stack of divider panels, so you can rearrange the main pocket to match your gear.My only complaint is that I wish it had a small pouch for keeping things like memory cards. There are two big sleeves within the front (outer?) pocket, but they're 6-8" square. So, they're good for storing cables, external hard drives, filters, etc, but small stuff quickly gets lost in the bottom of the bag. In all, there's the big main pocket, one outer pocket with the two smaller pockets I mentioned above (one on the front side, one on the back side), and then two small sleeves down each end of the bag. Velcro tabs on the top flap mean that you don't have to snap the latches in order to keep the bag closed. The velcro alone is enough to hold it. Or, if you would rather the bag open silently, there are flaps that slide out and cover the velcro. It's a very sturdy, versatile bag. I highly recommend it. |
