AWESOME WORKOUT!!!!,
By Naomi Horowitz (Connecticut) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Crunch - Cardio Sculpt [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have recently gotten engaged and like many brides want to loose weight and become more tone. I have gone to the gym for several years and have also tried other videos. I feel Crunch - Cardio Sculpt is absolute terrific and is the BEST way to accomplish my goal. Violet, the instructor is fabulous. She is energetic; extremely knowledgeable, and a wonderful motivator. The workout is low impact, which tones every part of your body in just 30 minutes. I also work full time and attend graduate school part time. With my busy schedule, this workout fits perfectly into my schedule. I highly recommend it. You will feel great and notice a difference within days!!

A great strength and cardio workout! Love it!,

I've bought most of the Crunch video series and love them all, but cardioscuplt, I must say is my favourite. It does bring your heart rate up while working more than one body part. The exercises are new and interesting, giving you the opportunity to take it at your own ability level, using two sets of different weights. I find that when I'm unable to make it to the gym, I can do cardiosculpt and know that I'll get a great total body workout. Violet is a pleasant instructor who walks you through the exercises, has excellent form ,and keeps you motivated for the entire 30 mins. It would be nice to see her in more videos. LOVE IT!!

Challenging Change of Pace....,

If you have been working out for a while and are ready for a change of pace "Crunch Cardio Sculpt" will challenge you. I found this work out just right for those wanting to move from beginning or introductory workouts to something more efficient. It may take several times before you get all the moves down or maybe even a few times before you get through the entire tape, but that is part of the challenge and also makes it fun(I had to laugh at myself trying to keep up with all the changes). It is always a good idea though to view a new workout at least once before attempting, so you have an idea of what's coming up.Instructor Violet Zaki takes you first through a great warm up that will begin to increase your heart rate and get that blood pumping. Once that heart rate is up,the fat burning and muscles toning segments begin. Working on and off with weights, she'll take you through a fitness routine that will hit every part of your body. Shoulders, chest, back, legs, arms, buttocks and abs all get some attention. You can start with one light set of weights and work up to two sets(switching off), up to ten pounds for a more advanced challenge. With or without the weights, you'll be constantly moving and surprising those muscles. Lastly a terrific cool down and stretch segment to bring your heart rate back down and lengthen out those muscles. This part could have been just a little longer for me, but I continue to stretch during the end credits.(Total workout time was about 34 minutes) Although, the class moves quickly, and as I said it may take a while to get all the moves down, Violet is an excellent motivator and cues well. There is even one person in the class you can follow if you need to modify any of the moves. It's always nice to add a change of pace when you're ready. This is a good head to toe workout that used regulary, should give you some nice results. For more specific areas, mix it up with weight training, power yoga or a Pilates workout a couple of times a week. I like "Quick Fix Pilate Abs", for a little extra help in that area. The price is right to give this one a try. My only little complaint would be that there wasn't anyone in the class who looked to be over 25. "Crunch" people.....it would be much more encouraging to us aging boomers to add a couple of older people to these classes(at least over 30), we can do it!. But a 5 star workout out none the less. Remember to breathe, eat healthy, and enjoy......Laurie

I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!,

First of all, I must say that Violet is amazing! I love her Aussie accent, and she's so natural and motivating. I love it when she says "Come on, guys..." You'll know what I mean after you see the video! It sounds silly, but she is a great instructor, and her voice just makes it that much more novel and exciting. I would love to find more videos with her. As for the content, it's excellent. You will sweat, get your heart rate up, sculpt your entire body, and really crunch your abs all in about 35 minutes. She focuses on a lot of low-impact standing work with two sets of weights, as well as push-ups and oh, yes, the abs(ouch!). Many of the movements focus on slower control and balance, so even though you're not lifting huge weights, you really work your arms and back, as well as all your stabilizing muscles. I was definitely sore the next day, and while I think you should probably still do some more focused sculpting work (try Kathy Smith's Secrets Of A Great Body tapes), this video is a great addition to your workout routine, especially for days when you want something fun and different, or when you want to really work but don't feel like working out for hours.

short and light on the cardio,
By
This review is from: Crunch - Cardio Sculpt [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I bought this tape because I have several other crunch videos and enjoy them. But this one just didnt live up to what I had come to expect from them. Its a very short tape and I knew that buying it, but compared to "Bootcamp" this just doesnt pack the same punch. The cardio segments arent energizing enough and the weight segments are pretty light as well. If your looking for a short workout that has a cardio/sculpt mix and that will make you sweat get "Bootcamp" its a great video. Ive had it for almost a year and still reach for it about once a week as filler for more workouts.

Maxium bang for minium time,

I love this video! It's a fantastic combination of solid body strengthening moves with low impact cardio. I also really like that it combines body resistance training as well. The instructor is so motivational, she keeps you hanging in there, even through that last rep. This video rates top marks with me because you can pop it in and get a really good overall body workout in just thirty minutes! Perfect when I don't have time to do a big work out, or anytime I need to do some exercise and get the sweat going!

Excellent Workout Video,

The instructor is absolutely fabulous! She keeps you motivated and makes you want to work out with her. I like the idea of using 2 sets of weights so you can adjust the level to your liking. I have been doing this tape every other day for the past 2 months and have very noticable muscle tone in my arms, legs and abs. You are constantly moving in this tape, so not only do you get a good weight workout, you get great cardio workout as well! I wish she would have focused more on triceps but I guess that's what the Crunch: Best Arms & Abs tape is for. I highly recommend this tape!

a little tough, but fun,
By
This review is from: Crunch - Cardio Sculpt [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is a great video! It's upbeat, but with very little whooping and hollering. The moves are not dance oriented, but are fun and interesting. It's tough to begin with, but since it's only 30 minutes long, you can bear with it (and press pause if you need to!). One person on the video offers low impact alternatives and you can actually see her and follow her lead. Many of the moves require balance, and with practice, you'll get that. Just remeber that developing balance is a part of good fitness, too. One thing to look out for - the instructor doesn't give many suggestions on form for lunges and curls, but if you already have this knowledge, it's nice not to hear every time you play the video.

My favorite of the Crunch series,
By A Customer
This review is from: Crunch - Cardio Sculpt [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have tried each and every one of the video workouts from the Crunch series--every time, I wind up getting so annoyed at all of the whooping and yelling from the sidelines, and eventually opt for my other tapes. This tape, however, does not really contain all that much yelling in the background. The workouts are pretty good, but complicated dance steps are not needed for a workout. Muscle-burning, yet easy-to-do steps are what are needed. Although that may seem boring and repetitious, it gives a great workout. This workout seems to accomplish that. This tape seemed to please me much more than the others in the Crunch series. The simpler, not too dance-oriented moves, along with toning segments where weights are used, made me feel like I was actually working out, not trying to figure out choreography. The instructor is very good at cueing and her personality is pleasant. I would recommend this tape to anyone looking for variety in their circuit training.

Good for BEGINNERS!,

This review is from: Crunch - Cardio Sculpt [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Not enough cardio. I think this is more sculpting than any type of cardio workout. I barely even sweat with this workout! It would be great for beginners who do not lead active lifestyles. It is pretty easy to follow after viewing it a couple of times.
