Previously teamed for Wiggle Waggle and Snuggle Wuggle, author Jonathan London and artist Michael Rex survey some beguiling members of the animal kingdom in Crunch Munch for a cacophonous celebration of 10 different eating sounds. "How does a cow eat?/ MOO-O-O-O chew, MOO-O-O-O chew./ How does a chipmunk eat?/ Nibble bibble, nibble bibble." As in the earlier titles, after each animal gets the spotlight against a white double-page backdrop, the entire cast returns for a rousing reprise.

PreS-London and Rex have teamed up on another title that story groups will love. This simple text that explores the sounds animals make as they enjoy their food will have children joining in. ("How does a cow eat? MOO-O-O-O chew, MOO-O-O-O chew.") Each animal receives its own double-page spread and the large colored-pencil drawings are very effective. The book ends with an illustration of a youngster in a high chair eyeing his animal crackers and the question, "How do you eat?" Combine this book with any of a number of toddler selections about animals, bring some crackers to hand out, and get ready to Crunch Munch at your next preschool program.-Meghan R.
