5.0 out of 5 stars Great Resource, December 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Crunchtime books can be a great asset for exam prep. Each book includes flow charts (which can be very helpful and are likely unlike anything you have seen in class), summaries of each topics, exam tips for each product including what is most commonly tested and what to say about a topic if tested, multiple choice questions and answers, short answer questions and answers, and essay questions and answers. I would recommended using this during the last week prior to the exam. It reinforces what you know and gives you great practice in answering exam questions.

Although they have great information, they will not correlate with every professor's class. In my experience, the Torts Crunchtime was invaluable and likely made a huge difference in my grade (especially recommended if your Torts professor includes any type of multiple choice on the exam). The Civ Pro Crunchtime was helpful, especially if there was any confusion on a particular topic. Due SOLELY to the difference in my professor's teaching methods and the info in these books, the Contracts and Crim Law Crunchtime books were not helpful to me. The material differed too much from the books (everything was accurate, however, my professor's gave certain topics a lot of weight and they were barely glazed over in the book). The helpfulness of these books depend on how they correlate to your class. If they do, there is no better resource for exam prep!

Also, the only other study aid I purchased was the Examples and Explanations for each topic. They compliment the Crunchtime books well because they give you a more in depth, overall view of the topic, while Crunchtime focuses on last minute, helpful tips and answer practice. The E&E's were the same as these books for me, Civ Pro and Torts were great, Crim Law and Contracts did not add much to my study preparation.

Almost a necessity if taking a civ pro class. Flow charts are helpful. Capsule summary is a nice way to cut through the clutter of numerous cases in this class. Practice questions are relevant and have good explanation. Highly recommend!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Reduced Price for a Good Overview, November 9, 2008
This review is from: CrunchTime: Civil Procedure (Paperback)
I heard that this series is a cheaper alternative to the overpriced Emanuel Law Outlines. It breaks everything down quickly but doesn't make you feel like you should have paid more. It gives numerous flow charts and gives good exam tips. I recommend this if you can't afford Emanuel Law Outlines.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect study AID, October 17, 2011
By
Colleen Mullen (Oviedo, Florida United States) - See all my reviews
I am not one to beat around the bush, therefore, I will tell you truthfully and forthrightly, this book should be used in conjunction to your class notes, outline, and possibly other study aids, although it is really the only aid you need. it does a fantastic job of putting things in a shortened, easy to understand manner, so that instead of continually losing the forest for the trees, all it does is show you the forest. this means that for the minutiae of detail that law professors want, you will need to make sure you have studied off of your class notes and your outline. However, this book will guarantee that you have a thorough understanding of the Erie doctrine, subject matter jurisdiction, and venue, and is an excellent tool to use to review. I used it when I was in Civil Procedure and it really helped me to be able to see the big picture. I highly recommend this as a study aid, but do not try to use it as your only study tool.

The book was practically brand new and arrived fast. I was very satisfied with my purchase. The book breaks down everything in a manner that is very easily understood. It makes the complexities of civil procedure much easier to understand.
