4.0 out of 5 stars Flavorful and addictve!
I bought these for my youngest child to take in his lunch. He did not enjoy them but I am hooked! They are expensive per ounce but for the flavor and health benefits you definitely get benefits that other products don't offer. My kids love fruit snacks but they have added sugar and I feel guilty if they eat too many. I will buy these again for a snack at work or in the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Crunchies
The .3 oz. pouch of strawberries measures 1/4 cup, poured loosely, not packed. Don't expect the strawberries to look like the picture...I have not found any slices of whole berries. They are pieces and slivers. The taste is very strong, a little goes a long way. I like the strawberries on my cereal and 1 pouch can be used for 4-5 bowls. A tiny bit will flavor a bite of...

The .3 oz. pouch of strawberries measures 1/4 cup, poured loosely, not packed. Don't expect the strawberries to look like the picture...I have not found any slices of whole berries. They are pieces and slivers. The taste is very strong, a little goes a long way. I like the strawberries on my cereal and 1 pouch can be used for 4-5 bowls. A tiny bit will flavor a bite of cereal so the whole bowl can taste strawberry-ish.
The mixed fruit packs contain strawberries. The blueberries are tiny and tasteless. The few raspberries I found were strong flavored and disolved quickly in the mouth. Mostly I got mangos and apples in the mixed fruit. I haven't tried the tropical fruit yet.

Edit: I have now tried the tropical fruit. It is .33 oz and composed of mangoes, bananas, pineapples, strawberries, and oranges. I didn't see or taste anything that looked like oranges. The bananas were very strong flavored, like very ripe bananas. I didn't like them. The mangoes were strong flavored also but not obnoxiously so.
The mixed fruit is .33 oz and composed of mangoes, peaches, apples, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries.

The packages are meant to be single servings and are not resealable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too expensive, December 8, 2008
This review is from: Crunchies Freeze-Dried Fruit Snacks, Lunchbox Size, 9-Count Box (Grocery)
I tried these recently for myself and kids, along with Funky Monkey Snacks Funky Monkey Snacks Bananamon, Bannana with Cinnamon, Freeze-Dried Fruit, 1-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12).

Crunchies are not as good as Funky Monkey and way, way more expensive. The Crunchies were over $5 per ounce while Funky Monkey is about $2 per ounce. Plus, Funky Monkey is crunchier and not filled with all of the powder of Crunchies.

Bottom line, Crunchies is not as good and 2.5x more expensive. Funky Monkey from now on for me.

They are expensive per ounce but for the flavor and health benefits you definitely get benefits that other products don't offer. My kids love fruit snacks but they have added sugar and I feel guilty if they eat too many. I will buy these again for a snack at work or in the evening so I am not eating chips instead. I love the strawberries the best.

The fruit snakes taste just fine, but they're way too expensive. The contents of one serving pouch don't even fill the palm of your hand.

2.0 out of 5 stars small quantity, sour taste, December 6, 2008
This review is from: Crunchies Freeze-Dried Fruit Snacks, Lunchbox Size, 9-Count Box (Grocery)
To my disappointment, the bag is soooooo small!
The fruit mix is also too sour to my taste. I used to have apple chips from Vietnam, which taste much much better. I still have 8 bags which I have tried to let my son to try, in vain.

I bought these for my grandson, who is 15 months old. He really likes them. The flavor is quite good (I have tried them!). The package size is great for a diaper bag.

I bought these for myself as little snacks for work. I don't love them. They were not as crunchy...slightly spongey. Pretty expensive too. My 8 year old loved them though.

Product was not very consistant, some crunchy some chewy. I think I will stick to the dried fruits and not freeze dried.

All i have to say is that my Crunchies were not crunchy. They were soft and stale, very dissapointing. However, my kids loved them anyway, so does it matter?
