5.0 out of 5 stars A must-read for each and every one of us., January 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Cry of Our Native Soul (Paperback)
For so many of us caught up in worldly concerns, the cry of our native soul, our earthborn soul, needs to be recognized and finally brought out of its dark hiding place. This book goes way beyond discussing Native American spirituality for our information and enlightenment; this gifted author gives it the more global name of creation-centered spirituality and offers it as something for each and every one of us. Many of us have been taught that we arrive on this planet in a fallen state and return to our Creator only if we are repentant enough. Not so, according to Dr. McWhorter. Our life is a sacred gift and we owe it to ourselves to find joyfulness in that gift. When we connect with Mother Earth as our true mother, and cherish all that our Creator has given us, our spirits can awaken from its slumber and know life at its fullest as it was meant to be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cry of Our Native Soul, June 11, 2006
This review is from: Cry of Our Native Soul (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book and felt like I was there with the author. I read it and immediately re-read it. It provided information to me regarding my spritiaul path in this lifetime. We have to cut through the crust of life to find our true path in life. We have to know and believe in our feelings, and trust our feelings in our spirit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reminiscent of William Blake, June 10, 2006
This review is from: Cry of Our Native Soul (Paperback)
Reading this book, especially the passage, "When something is shown to you, the universe opens up . . ." it reminded me of William Blake's, "To see the world in a grain of sand; and a heaven in a wild flower; hold infinity in the palm of your hand; and eternity in an hour." The author must have had a direct experience with something of the heavens, and how furtunate we all are that she returned to tell it.
