Cohen's keyboards are a consistent promising voice in The Red's instrumental sound, with Shaffer's unique guitar lines providing the momentum. The atmosphere runs from basic moody to flat-out aggressive, particular standouts being the title track, Cry Tomorrow, Terror In My Heart, the sinister Waiting For You (featured spectacularly in the Manhunter soundtrack), and a radical new cover of the Rolling Stones' Gimme Shelter. Backed by a varied collection of New York's notable session vocalists which push the sounds further home, the production delivery keeps it all as clean and sharp as a new scalpel.

America`s best kept secret?,

I came across the Reds while trying to find the component tracks for the soundtrack to Michael Mann`s excellent "Manhunter" film on the `net. These guys just sound awesome...........there`s no other way of putting it. I`ve rarely heard synth and guitar meld so completely in music, and vocals that literally growl and menace you from the speakers! There is not a bad track on this album, in fact there`s not even a mediocre one.! An album that seems to tie you in knots while you listen to it. Music for damaged souls - listen and remember the dark times if you dare! Now then.....What about a release for the "Manhunter" soundtrack on C.D guys?

Worth the wait,
By Teddy Sullivan (Overland Park, KS USA) - See all my reviews

I first started listening to the reds when the Band of the Hand soundtrack came out in the 80s. They have that smooth, eerie rock sound that's great for a night drive. Michael Mann used their music in all of his 80's films and TV shows, but unfortunately those albums are no longer made. I've hit every used record store in the country trying to find the reds but to no avail. Once I found this CD released and available on Amazon.com I bought it immediately... I haven't stopped listening to it. Looking for something different? ... and you like Michael Mann films, buy this CD!

This disc will creep into your brain and haunt you. Just try and find anything that this band did in the late 80's ... The Reds are excellent ... beg for more!
