Book Description

January 1, 1988
Cry For War is the disturbing, real-life tale of two ruthless killers who convert to their own perverted brand of Islam and kill in the name of Allah. As self-proclaimed Moslem assassins, Suzan and Michael Carson were Allah's Death Angels, roaming the California highways during the 1980's and murdering "witches". At the top of their list was President Ronald Wilson Reagan, who, according to their ghastly cult, bore the mark of the beast - 6 6 6.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good read, needed editor, June 19, 2006
This review is from: Cry for War: The Story of Suzan and Michael Carson (Paperback)
I've had this book for years and recently reread it. Made me wonder whether Michael and Suzan Carson are still the raving lunatics they were during their killing spree back in the 1980s.
Unlike the other reviewer, I never identified with the Carsons. They, and their twisted thought processes, were terrifying. I'd like to know what they had to say to Richard Reynolds after they read the book and discovered what he really thought of them.
Cry for War is a good read, a page-turner. But countless typos and misspellings, including many in proper names, distract the reader and give the book a slipshod feel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cry for War, December 12, 1999
This review is from: Cry for War: The Story of Suzan and Michael Carson (Paperback)
Richard Reynolds actually gets into the heads of two crazy people and lets the reader follow them on their adventures. You are prepared to hate them after the first chapter which is from the point of view of the victim's friends. Then, as we accompany them on their flight from justice and enter their minds, we find ourselves seduced into liking them and actually rooting for them. Such is the power of this book.

This is a book of the streets and the people who inhabit them. It's a book of punk rockers, welfare mothers, Golden Gate Park, pot farms, nomads crashing in abandoned cabins, and murder. Suzan and Michael are pot dealers (and smokers) who are high on their own insanity. They see themselves as Moslem assassins and their lives as a holy war against "Witches" and other "infidels."

Richard Reynolds becomes Suzan and Michael as does the reader. How many times have you become somebody else? How often has it been someone repellant and still you loved the experience? Highly recommended

1.0 out of 5 stars This book is fiction!, November 30, 2010
This review is from: Cry for War: The Story of Suzan and Michael Carson (Paperback)
Richard Reynolds did a horrible job writing this book. He even had to self publish. He is in hiding now and will not even face the family of the victims he wrote about. He misled the family members when prodding them for information for his book. My sister is one of the murdered victims. Richard made up his idea of my sister based on information he received from the murderers which was based on what they wanted to make up and on heroine addicts that had no idea about reality. My sister was not the person that is portrayed in the book. Richard failed to put in the truths about her. Unfortunately now, everything that is broadcast or published concerning these serial killers is based on a fictional book which is an injustice to my sister, her family and the other victims that these people killed. Richard has raped my sister of her identity with his horrible misleading book.
