When Randi Galloway reaches inside the replica of a historical plantation home, she only wants to discover the source of the baby's cries she's been hearing for the past three nights. But then she's standing inside the real house, holding the real baby, and facing the very angry man who wants to know what she's doing in his home. Randi falls in love with Jackson Durant and his infant daughter, but must get back to her own time before disaster strikes. He refuses to believe her wild stories, especially the one about the plantation being destroyed in a coming flood. And even when the water begins to rise, he won't listen to her warnings that he and his daughter will soon perish in the muddy Mississippi. Only love--and cries heard at midnight--can unite Jackson and his daughter with a woman from another time.
